I'd sign up for this!
You'd likely be able to order six movies (only allowed 3 at a time)in a morth + 2 free in-store rentals for $14.99.. That's not bad.. but then again it depends on how much s&h charges would be, also how much it'd be to send them back, plus tax...
Come to think about it, i think it'd end up being juss as much as going to the store... i'll stick to the store... way more convenient! no wasting time mailing back or having to wait for yer movie to come!
PLUS they have stopped charging for late fees....... :D
ps. i wonder if i still have to pay for the fees i had from before this new 'no late-fees' thing? |

Oh and this is off of blockbuster.COM. There is no mention of this on blockbuster.CA.
So, it's $14.95/mo USD and not (yet?) avail in Canada... :( |

| This isn't available in canada yet, don't know if it will be available at all. There are a few services like this in the states, and blockbuster just entered the fray. Since there isn't much competition for this kind of thing up here, I don't see them being in too much of a rush to give this service to us. |

the no late fee policy was designed to counter online services, and now Blockbuster is taking the full jump into the competition.
No late fee policy followed in Canada 29 days after USA startup.
btw, I work @ Blockbuster. |

There is competition up here. I am a member of moviesforme.ca and then there's the other two major services like zip.ca and dvdhype.com
I have a 4 dvds out at a time membership and prolly get around 6-10 dvds a month depending on delivery times. Not bad for $25/month. |

Hmmm looks like that online DVD rental place is really giving blockbuster some competition so they've decided to take their domination back :)....interesting....cool stuff though!
I know some other companies are planning to do something similiar with music...as in rent music rather than buy it (like with iTunes for example) :conf:
Sorry about the hijack by the way |

Pretty pathetic to think that people are too lazy to even go rent a movie now.
I predict that in 20 years, leaving the house will be a huge event.
:wtf: |

I don't think it's about being lazy...i think it's about the fact that people's lives are getting more and more busy and there's no time to "go rent a movie".....many people I know just come home after a full day of work too tired to even think about going out....or simply don't have enough time...this provides them with the convenience IMHO.
In my gym there's a personal consierge service now. Some think it's for lazy people...I think that a person that gets paid $300/hour has more important things to do than sit and order his own car/restaurant reservation/and etc ;) |
