| Richard Kelly received only $9,000 to write and direct Donnie Darko. theres a reason it looks the way it does dude. |

Nay, one of the worst films I have ever seen, it has that "made to be cult classic" feel... totally ing fake.
Only watch it if your a ty little emo kid, or a lightweight goth.
Only good part is "Go suck a !" |
what?! i hate emo but I loved the movie. also i don't think there was one EMO song in the entire soundtrack |

"Go back to China, bitch"
:haha:
If you didn't like it you probably didn't understand it. You can't just watch it once and fully understand and appreciate it.
If you liked this movie you might also like:

eh...dunno bout smart. its just something people who are interested
in film should see. It was a fun idea and a mind trip first time you watch it. The idea of someone saving peoples lives and they dont even know it is pretty heart breaking considering the stuff they went through "Who lived there?" gf "i dont know".
simple ideas, martyrdom can be harsh, makes you wonder if youd do it. I dont think anyone is trying to be elite here. Its like "rats the night of terror" watch it. its a classic horror film. |

The song in the credits is like the in emo anthem!?!?!?
Emo goes beyond one set of music, its an invasive and evil disease... that can infect anything! |
so one song in the credits? |

personally, it doesn't affect my enjoyment of a movie whether or not other people think they're smarter by watching it.
the only thing that affects my enjoyment is if i had a good time while watching it, and in this case i found donnie darko to be an entertaining moving story with a lot of depth:thepirate |

I understood it plenty, and have seen it numerous times (not of my own choosing...).
Its trendwhore crap, right next to Ipods and MySpace. |
I actually enjoy good movies and saw this back in 2002. I understand where you are coming from, bandwagoners are just gullible tools. In the same token when one goes on a crusade denouncing their hatred for "trendwhore crap" or "emo" does that make one a better person or elite?
btw Full Metal Alchemist was a good series.
You should watch Full Metal Fumofu :tongue3 |

Nou, you need to reasses how people and the world work.
Just because a movie is 'processed cult classic' in your eyes, or hyped or whatever, doesnt make it bad movie.
I enjoyed it regardless of what other people thought, and if I didn't enjoy it, it still woulda been regardless of what other people thought.
Generalizing that everyone who likes it does so just for bandwagon reasons is pretty bandwagon in itself.
Dislike the movie for whatever reasons you want, but if it because it is popular, keep it to yourself. |
