yeah thats right!
earlier today i installed win 2000
after a few hundred restarts...because of installing, changing settings and like that, i booted up and loaded windows, then BANG!!!
ing psu blew up and smoke and went everywhere.
i am not happy, got paid today and had to go and buy another psu...but it was a ty 350w...couldnt seem to handle 2x hard drives, cdrw, gfx card and a amd xp2000+ with 4 case fans. peice of microsoft . same goes with the psu which is now a paperweight
got a nice 400w psu now...running 2000 still and 2x hd/cdrw/ no floppy disk and just the 1 case fan now because windows kept shutting down due to overheat or some minor like that.
why does windows 2k love to restart? BASTARD.
im annoyed but good now because i fix. :)
rant over i guess

well something in the psu melted as it just stank of burnt plastic or some ...
went to the computer store and the guy plugged the psu in (i was at the counter thinking 'haha...its gunna blow up in yer face mate') as he had to do a routine check to make sure its properly ed and i that i wasnt just some idiot computer guy.
anyway, he plugged it in and flicked the switch on the psu and the thing blew up in his face as well, flash and a big boom, i laughed and he said, 'hm thats not a good sound...' so he went and got another one for meh, though i thought the problem was of the low wattage and my computer needed more (it was only a 350w) i opted for the 400w, which was £7.50 the diff, so i paid that and buggered off
all working fine now, just windows 2000 pro is a bit ty, full of security holes and takes hours on end patching them up and tweaking things...
only problem i have now is that its a total memory hog (my page file is like 511mb - not good) and my modem keeps turning itself off and resyncronising.
man this computer tech wastes so much time. |

yes, very lucky indeed. at first i thought i was spiked and my pc was a giant paperweight, but no, everything is intact :)
i think the psu thing has some sort of anti-spike thing built in so i was safe

| A proper hardware set up should be able to handle any amount of restarts. |
