Tiësto's been doing this since he was sixteen, which considering he's about thirty three or four means he's been doing it since long before trance was 'cool' or even a big commercial success. He's been one of the people responsible for developing trance over the past god knows how many years. Just because he's a commercial success does not make him a bad DJ. The guy makes and promotes quality music and it he knows how to rock a crowd. Why are you bitching about someone because they are successful? Surely artists who make good music and have respect for the genre should be allowed success. And like someone mentioned above he's not all about himself. Read some interviews. The guy is an absolute music lover. I had the fortune to meet him once before a set in my hometown, he's down to earth, not full of his own and like I said dedicated to music.

Damn straight, it's all a bit of fun. Great spectacle for the crowd who obviously loved it. We're all surrounded by advertising all the bloody time. Without it massive events like Mysteryland could never go ahead. I'm no fan of corporate interests, in fact I hate them and what they stand for. But let's face it, they aren't going anywhere and if we can enjoy quality festivals like that then at least we can take something from it. |

So "PVD and M.I.K.E are Gods" but Tiësto is not Jesus. Thanks to Scaza for clearing up that itchy burning question of whether or not Tiësto is the love child of PVD and M.I.K.E. |

Ah the slagging's all in good fun. One of my slagging ways is stating obvious things in stupid ways. It entertains me, and I guess that's the important thing.
As for the helicopter, it sure what's wrong with that? (The blatant Red Bull plug excepted). It got the crowd going and isn't that one of the main jobs of the DJ? |
