so why is the banner at the top of the page DI - new home of ASOT?
are they taking more credit then they deserve? |

No, as I said in my original post, DI.fm is also simulcasting. Armin wants to reach as large an audience as possible and DI is a pay station with a different audience. As such, they can afford to pay for a banner.
Bear in mind that their free streams are 96kbit, and paid are 128kbit or 160kbit. ETN.fm broadcasts 32kbit, 128kbit, and 192kbit free of charge. |

i do understand that they are simulcasting but you guys have the better stream and the free service which would make it better.
just because they can afford putting banners up doesn't mean they should be. |

Nothing to be done about it, really. We're a grassroots, community-supported group (much like TA) and DI.fm has taken a different route in their quest to be sustainable. Nothing at all is wrong with that, just two different places that the money comes from to keep each station going, and two different primary motivations. Because of their solid revenue stream, they can afford the banners and other advertising. Two different worlds. Armin selected both to air the next episode of ASOT as he tests the water for online-only broadcasts.
It's not cheap to run a station and all of our costs are covered by either by donations made by our listeners (negligable) or out of our own pockets. All of us involved at ETN.fm have full-time jobs but dedicate the vast majority of our free time (and sometimes not-so-free time) to maintaining the station, organising schedules, liasing with DJs and label owners, ensuring playlists operate properly, keeping our network infrastructure and systems running smoothely, and continuing to build our website into a useful station portal.
We do it all for the enjoyment of others and to further the scene. We pride ourselves in the environment we've created, where most of our residents participate actively during their scheduled shows, sharing tracklistings, answering questions about upcoming tour dates, and generally interacting with our listener base. As well, we've always stood (predecessors Trancesphere and ETS-Global) for creating an open community, that fosters existing and new global talent. This is definitely reflected in such original shows as Rising Stars and my new show Toronto Calling (to feature talent from Toronto and around the world).
At the end of the day, I enjoy the contributions I help make, and don't mind paying some things out of my own pocket. As well, we often receive support from others in the community whom we support. An example is Filo & Peri's upcoming record sleeve will feature our station's logo.
In the end, I personally wish nothing but the best for DI.fm. They've been around longer than us and have more established relationships. We're both different stations and will always remain that way. |

Yes, we normally rebroadcast ASOT on Friday evening, after the regularly scheduled shows. This should be sometime after 7:00PM. |
