| This is an incredible lost to our local comunity, It's such a lost, There is not much choices in music stations in South Florida, We have a couple of hiphop stations, Spanish stations, Oldies stations and some pop stations, Not much of a choice since there is not a single station that plays dance music, This in itself is a travesty to the entire comunity and I feel betrayed, Cause of this, I cannot turn on the radio any more, Our only option nowadays is listening to webradios, They always provide the best in dance music and comercial free. |

| Another questions comes down to Ultra. Where will Ultra advertise to the masses?!?!... Prior to 93.1, they used to run the ads on Power 96, same as the Space ads.. they ran on Power 96.. the only Ultra's that I know of that weren't advertised on the radio, was the one from 99.. but 2000 and above were running on power 96 and then party.. Im just wondering what will happen without this big ads. ? |

| The website has been edited to remove all main content and they also removed the conctact information so people cannot call the original station number or cox's, but still not even a small note explaining to the public why this happened. |

good, hopefully this will be the last we ever have to hear from buster's gay ass. i swear to god im putting out a contract on his head if he talkes over PvD at ultra again this year. |
I'm right with you there. I've never had more hatred toward a person in my entire life, and he keeps doing it year after year. What a way to ruin a great set. Since when does trance need an MC?
This sucks about the 93.1 ... that was one of my favorite things about visiting Miami, the WMC won't be the same this year. |

Preach brother, he needs to stfu and let the DJs spin. I think he likes the sound of his voice too much. |

Party 93.1 switches to rock format
BY CHRISTINA HOAG
[email protected]
South Florida's dance music station Party 93 is now a rock and roller. The station abruptly switched formats late Monday and is now Rock 93.
The move comes three days after Clear Channel flipped its progressive rock station WZTA 94.9 FM to Hispanic urban on Friday, leaving fans of new rock groups such as Pearl Jam and Hoobastank in the lurch.
''Cox decided there is room for a second rocker,'' said Tom Taylor, editor of Inside Radio/M Street. ``The chessboard just changed again.''
The format change is the second for 93.1 FM. For years, until January 2002, it was classical station WTMI. Cox Radio then changed the call letters and format to WPYM and rhythmic dance music, which has had mediocre success as a radio format across the country.
Faced with less than stellar ratings and an opportunity to sweep up WZTA's fan base, Cox decided to make the switch before those listeners found new niches in stations such as Clear Channel's WBGG-FM 105.9, classic rock, or WHYI-FM 100.7, contemporary.
THe switch is also the third this year in South Florida's competitive radio market. Last month, WKAT-AM 1360 turned from classical into conservative news/talk. |

lol... I love how he always manages to scream something ghey (i.e. "The girls are hot and the guys are coool!") right when the song is about to drop :haha: |

I hate to say it, but the writing was on the wall with 93.1. Their format went from progressive dance to “Freestyle Oldies”. I sent a nasty email to their program director about it and his only defense was that they were trying to cater to everyone. I knew that was the beginning of the end.
But Zeta? WTF? On NPR news yesterday, the commented that the parent company made the switch because that format was a huge success in Texas. They’re supposed to be playing Reggaeton. But it’s all screwed up. They play the type of sh*t you hear on power 96.
Satellite radio suddenly sounds a lot better. |

Buster's been doing this sh*t at every Ultra after the 2nd or third one. He needs to take that "what's up Miami" sh*t back to the North East where he came from. I95 North mutherF*ucker! |

Just for a bit of perspective. Atlanta radio has been teh gay recently as well. We lost our best classic rock station abruptly one night and now it plays mellow, yuppie rock all the time (its even CALLED Dave FM). Its lame and they never tell you and I think thats what makes people mad the most. Change sucks.
Since the radio scene in atlanta sucks so much, I pretty much only listen to CD's and my MD player, which is the ONLY way I can listen to dance music in my car here. Unless of course you WANT to listen to top40 with MikeB from Eleven50 on fridays (LAME!!!).
*sigh* Radio is dead to me.
And some caution on Satellite radio. It might seem like a good alternative, but the electronic stations on XM (all 2 of them) play pretty mainstream crap. My sister has it in her car and it was alright. My Cd's were still better.
If only there was a way to get etn.fm streams in my car...(hint hint enginners)
