Dont you dare post a party review in the TRIBE forum (pg. 6)

Did the mod give a reason for banning you ?

If not -- then did you inquire about it ?
Kytracid
In my opinion that's not right. As a mod, he should justify the reasons for such actions, especially in a community forum. How hard is it to just reply to your thread with a reason for the ban like Swamper has done in the past. I'm not sure i would even want to be a member of a forum that has a power trippin mod like that running around.

That being said, i do see how a mod might see a reason for taking action if he/she notices too many reviews started by promoters. Not saying that you're reviews aren't fun to read, or 100% accurate. But there's no denying that your role as a promoter does color the way you write reviews.

Still, if these things aren't stated in the forum policy then the least the mod should do is let you know that any further violations will result in a ban. The fact he banned you without giving a reason makes me suspect what a lot of people have already mentioned about this mod -- that he's a nazi.

Makes me glad i'm not a Tribe member.

Might not love trance as much as i used to when i joined, but hell, after almost 4 years -- TranceAddict is definately home for me. :)

I'd definately deny that. Look back to my first review @ Boa for the Sander Kleinenberg party when i wasnt associated with the club at all, and you'll find it to have the same, if not more positive content.

What an amazing club.

Lastnight was uning believable. Like Dea said, the club was very spacious, sound system is SPECTACULAR, and it seems (at this point) that the club has drawn appeal from some of the coolest party people in the Toronto area. Surprisingly non-sketchy crowd, very friendly staff, and good club layout. Sean Miller started out the night around 12:45 or so bumping out some very innovative progressive beats with all of the elements (tribal, house and trance). Tight mixing, excellent track selection really had the crowd going from the get go. Sander came on around 4 i believe and the party really started to get good at this point. Track selection was absolutely brilliant at times but i will admit there were a few moments in the night he must of been suffering from partying in MTL the night prior. He spun mostly i have never heard before but also spun a few classics and old songs (towards the end). Sander laced us with music that brought the atmosphere in the club to a level i havent experienced in a long time. He finished off around 9:15 with "Milkshake" (what?!?!!?) thats right.....milkshake (with him boogying on the dance floor with his girlfriend) - very funny . Sander was very interactive with the crowd and looked like he was having a blast slaying us with the arsenal of music he had in his possession. Got a chance to shake his hand and thank him for giving me a set of music i will remember for a lifetime. In closing i must say that its gonna be REAL hard for me to ever go to The Guvernment again after the clubbing experience i had at Boa. An extra $20 for room to dance and a good crowd is a good deal in my books. You dont realize how much more you can enjoy a party when you have room to do your thing on the dance floor.

Tunes he played (i know theres more i know)
Beastie Boys - Intergalactic (Matthew Dekay Remix)
Armand Van Helden - Funk Phenomenon
Chemical Brothers - It Began in Africa
Steve Porter - Definite Form
Kylie Minogue - Slow (RMX?!?!)
Janet Jackson - Feel It Boy (Deep Dish Remix)
Kelis - Milkshake (LOL)
Missy Elliott - Pass The Dutch

Stumbled into Boa around 3am to a very enthusiastic crowd going nuts to Sean's opening set. From what i hear, this was one of his best sets in recent history - and what i caught in the final hour would definately support this claim. I was drunk as hell at this point, and didnt hesitate getting right into the floor whoring. He closed his set with some ultra sleazy goodness and set the table for Mr. Romero perfectly......

Im guessing it was around 4am when Hector took over the decks, and holy was he on point. Dropping some seriously dirty house all night, he picked up where Miller left off and kept the vibe going. In my opinion he outdid his counterpart Satoshi Tomiie EASILY. Though the crowd seemed to thin out earlier than usual, those remaining wasted every ounce of energy on the dancefloor - this set was not for standing around. Due to my state of mind for this night i'm not going to be one to ID a bunch of tracks....im sure Coleridge can help us out - he was loving the set as well. I can tell you, he finished his set with "Owner of a Lonely Heart" - (Max Graham Remix??), and in what seems to be Boa trend these days, Hector came out and greeted those left in attendence.

This was one of the better sets i've heard in recent times, and definately one of the most ass shakin ones.

TIPS: Posting party reviews...

"Try to avoid:

1. Reviewing your own event if you the promoter or associated with the event
- it looks really lame."

...

"We don't have many rules on the site, but these are the important ones and they concern SPAM. If we consider you a SPAMMER or find you are SPAMMING the board we may ban you and delete all your posts site-wide without further notice to you. Please read the following rules carefully. TRY TO AVOID >> it looks really lame = BANNING?!

...seems logical, no?

^^^

no arguing with that.

Theres rules to be followed for any forum, even trandeaddict...

But I think what may just be the main issue here is not that theres alotta strict rules over at tribe, but the fact that maybe, just maybe there could be a certain amount of partiality involved as to how stringently these rules are being applied to some people as opposed to others....

end of the day... tranceaddict rules... people here are awesome, mods are awesome.... its all good.... :)

Only the party review thread.

To be honest, this is really no surprise to me. A few months back someone had asked in the roll call thread about the cover charge for an event @ Boa, i simply replied to the person in a PM with the info, next day i am no longer to accept PM's or send them, i was banned from the house forum, and couldnt post in roll calls anymore. Now add to the list, no posting party reviews anymore.

Well do they know you promote for boa, i remember one of these rules, that promoters can't start a review about the night they're involved promoting in

Thats fine and dandy, but should a warning not be given before taking such drastic measures?? Im all about playing by the rules no matter how strict they may be, but let the rules be known - dont make it seem like your coming up with them as you go......

DancingQueen169
^^^ agreed. I think that they should have at least given you a warning. Everyone deserves at least that.

Like I said earlier the people on that forum usually get away with a lot worse, and I have seen ppl post a lot worse then a promoter posting a review.
