Does anyone have a mazda? (pg. 5)

When I was a kid my parents owned a Mazda MPV. The thing lasted us 8 years before we replaced it. It was our first and last mini-van, but not for any manufacturer-related problems. Plus, we raked in almost 300k on it before it was killed...

It was in two accidents within 3 years. One was a blackice thing up north near Kincardine when I was in the 8th grade, the other, some prick pulled a left turn right into the van's driver side. Thing was wrecked, so we got a Subaru Outback.

I could go on for hours about how ed up the Outback was, but this is a thread about Mazda's. :)

ill check my email archives. i work for ford motor, and i get the quarterly earnings and finance report things in the company mailers
its not a large chunk at all, very small portions actually. ford motor has a very very sizeable slush fund making up the pension fund, that has been in existance since 1911 i think. so needless to say its a huge pool of funds at this point. in the past 15 to 20 yrs ford has been investing in all sorts of different avenues, in the process they have purchased shares in the major competitors, as well as bought out a number of smaller component supply companies such as Visteon.... im going to check through my mail archive tommorow
and see if i can dig up one of the financial newsletter things.

if you have any questions about ford or other ford brand vehicles, feel free to pm me as if i cant answer your questions right away, i can get the answers pretty quickly.

My car is a 2003..(not a mazda protege) and i just reached 44k....then again I drive out of town all the time.

The key is to take care of your car...i go crazy with making sure I am on schedule for maintenance....2 weeks ago I spent over $300 on a type D service. That car is mine and I bought her brand spankin' new. I want her to last a long time...cars are very expensive!

Besides..she's my baby. ;)

Cant wait to see that thing super clean in the summer ;) haha

I've had an infatuation with those for quite some time but i hear Saabs are very high maintenance..

I love Mazdas though.. I'm thinking of trading in my Civic for a Mazda3 or 6 in a year or so when I'm ready for something roomier :)

I had a 1991 MX6 and even as a 10 year old car it drove almost like new.. so sorry to let that one go..

The 2-door Civics are built in Ohio by drunk Yankees and they are having severe quality control problems. The 4-doors are built up here in Alliston, Ontario. As cars go Canada is one of the best countries for quality control in the world. (Behind Japan of course) Corollas are built in Cambridge. Mazda 3s are built somewhere in the southern states (Texas or Kentucky I think)

Last time I checked the Mazda3's were still coming in from Japan..

I first saw the mazda 6 last year and fell in love w/ it! Unfortunately I can't afford a $35,000 car! So I am currently saving up for the mazda 3 which I think is still nice. Personally, I don't like the leather on the interior. I think it looks pretty cheap.

wayne assembly in michigan, and the other one is in st louis i think... but dont hold me to that one

Pension funds don't count!!!!! lol.

In that case, every company owns every other company (index tracking stocks).

Ford Question: When is FoMoCo going to bring the 2006 focus-ST (220 HP, 5 cylinder volvo turbo) to Canada?!? ;)

Looks like I'm quoting you on it!.
When I went to the dealership last week the sales guy said that if they don't have any in stock when I order it, they would have to get one from JAPAN. :(

you have alot to learn about dealerships then........ they are pretty in stupid. i should send you some of the warranty verbatim i go over in the summers.

complaint : there is noise comming from the driver side window area

Dealer : replaces glass, glass run, window actuator, inner door pannel, and the vapor barrier.

all they really had to do was put the window half way down and wiggle the glass back and forth ot set it back into the glass run.... fixed.

ive called fairlane ford (one of the biggest dealerships in the detroit area) from the plant in st thomas ontario where i work and they told me i was wrong about the manufacturing location for the crown victoria.... they are only built in one place, and thats st thomas.

the only contact the delerships really have with ford motor company is throught he PR releases about new vehicles and WERS maintenance tips that we release to the technicians when we identify common problems and issues with the vehicles, those releases basically identify the symptoms, the parts involved, and the repair procedure.
