You can't let the terrorists get to you.

It's at times like these that good people on both sides have to come together to stand up for what's right.

My primary religion is Islam, and shadoWolf, (while i am not the most practicing muslim) that is totally uncalled for. As your topic suggests..it is extremists. Please, for the love of god, don't generalize.

Try reading the Qu'ran sometime.

I think most secular Muslims believe (as do most Christians, Jews, and other major religions) that their sacred text is not meant to be taken literally or at face value. Extremists, however, do take it literally, and any religion when taken so literally is liable to lead to serious sociopolitical problems.

When comparing states in the Middle East, many areas are fairly secular. Israel and, going by what I've heard, much of the UAE, are good examples of that. Unfortunately, in Palestine, these "extremists" have a hold on a large segment of the population and impose these orthodox, literal religious beliefs on them.

So perhaps it's not the religion but people's interpretation of it. The difference is not highly tangible, though. Islam may be no more at fault for these suicide bombings than Christianity was for the Crusades or witch-burnings, or Judaism was for whatever the hell you believe happened circa the year 1 BC - but having said that, you can't possibly infer that the religions in question were not at least partially responsible for these events.

When you have people killing in the name of Allah, or God, or Jesus, or even the Dalai Llama, then you have to accept that some blame lies with the religious leaders for not setting them straight.

I think that if the Pope found out that hordes of Christians were committing mass murder in the name of Jesus, he'd do everything in his power to put a stop to it, and not just issue "statements" about how "Christianity isn't really a hateful or violent religion".

On the same day as these 3 Israeli clubbers died 9 United Nations peace keepers got killed in the Republic of Congo and yet you people make the deaths of 3 clubbers sound so much more important?

A death is a death is a death!!! Whether its Israeli partiers dying or UN peace keepers in Congo or an old man dying in a hospital or a kid getting hit by a car and dying or some teenager getting shot and killed in a stairway. Many people die every single day of many different causes and many of these people who die we don't even hear about. Death is a part of life and acting as though one death is more significant than another is completely retarded so get over it because a death is a death is a death and its part of life people.

How the hell does someone get into a nightclub with a bomb in the first place? Do they not have people searching patrons as they come into the club and in a political climate such as Israel/Palestine where this type of thing has happened before would they not think of having metal detectors? For s sake BOA and TONIC have metal detectors and this is in Toronto and not Israel where you would assume that they would have them in every club.

They do have security guards and metal detectors, I can clarify because I was visiting Tel Aviv and Israel in the summer.

The suicide bomber detonated outside of the club where about 30 people were lined up going inside.

Nobody said this death was more significant than another. The reason a thread is posted on here about it, is because we can relate to the fact that clubbers were killed, and that's something we do on a regular basis.
