Browser hijackers common spyware. Get the full Adaware SE with Ad-Watch which runs continuous like an active virus scanner. This, along with Norton AV and EMS Free Surfer with the -30 Engine running simultaneously works for me on blocking about everything without running a pure firewall. I still get a Trojan butterfly virus buried in a Java zip file every now and then, but know when it comes and is quarantineed. BTW, if you're smart enough, you shouldn't have to pay for any of the software above, I didn't.
