Hey, Q--I for one want to take this opportunity to say thanks for what you do. None of us would have it so good in this country if it weren't for guys like you, willing to lay it all on the line for what you believe is right. I appreciate your service!
Plus, you get to blow up, which is nice!
Thanks. |

Great thought. Hope we continue to reward those sacrificing for god and country. We're just running out of trigger pullers at an alarming rate unless Congress or the Army throws a wad of money at the problem. Cruising Iraq waiting to get ambushed just ain't too sexy these days I reckon. Wad will come, Congress ain't hepped on a draft. No choice in the matter if another regional conflict kicks (i.e. nK) entailing another commitment of troops, then we'll have to go to full mob...and a draft....
;)

| They're having difficulty because the suits at the pentagon have royally dicked around the soldiers. Under paying them, extending their tours of duty, forcing them to stay enlisted when they planned to retired, sending national guard to Iraq, insufficient equipment such as body armor and armor plated humvees, no postwar planning in Iraq...the list goes on. The majority of recruits are low-income folk who have no future and need the money. Its criminal how the government takes advantage of them. Anyone who had half a brain could see this coming. The majority of the public is ok with the Iraq war because they don't have to fight it. Nothing would make me more happy than a reinstution of the draft. |
