Personally, I just spin the classics myself, and ignore the new releases.
However, it it bugs you folks so much, why spend so much time on them, when you could be looking for new music? Just becuase a few huge hits have been rereleased doesn't mean you have to pay any attention to them. If you don't like them, don't publicize them in a public forum.
Vote with your words and your pocket book, as these labels are simply producing what will sell. They have to eat too, you know, and if they know they;ll be eating better by producing new stuff than rehashing the old, then they will do so. Simple as that. |
Congrats, you just nailed one of the biggest reasons for trance being nowadays on the head. |

| I agree with Sand Leaper and others - most of the time the labels are just after cash, and the vast majority of the "new" remixes of classics that i have heard are pure crap. |

i just haven't heard that many remakes that have been worth ...most are done by some ty producer that really has no business even attempting to make dance music let alone remaking a classic...
only good remake i've heard in a while is...
The KLF - What Time Is Love? (Tricknology Mix)
now that is a great update to a classic tune... |

| I fully agree with Sand Leaper, now and then theres a remake thats good, but most are , they need to stop bringing back remixes of good ol tracks and make new tracks that are fresh and original. |

Yep. However, therein lies another problem. With Trance becoming this thing where everyone wants to get onto ASOT, they all stick with the tried-and-tested format, which has quickly become old. They want the fame, and they want everyone to cream their pants, so attempting anything new is out of the question for many producers. |

| *sigh* i'm soo sick about hearing about how trance is dead why don't we talk about ways to fix it instead. |

The good thing about these updated versions is that it brings new life into the OLD versions.
People are playing MOgwai - Viola 2005 but thhat means i can now play the original Armin Van Buuren remix. |

nobody said you couldn't play the ol'skool mixes unless a 2005 mix was released.
just drop those classics mate. they're classics, the crowd will love em even if they've never heard of em before.
btw, it's "bandwagon". and NO. |

What he's trying to say is that, through the Viola 2005 mixes, it makes you wanna play the older versions as well, therefore bringing the classics to the newschool people :-) |
