the thing that bugs me most is that since there are so many well known producers on this forum and I assume that they read the reviews of new releases and the vast amount of negative critics they recieve dont they learn anything?
How can they keep going on and destroying classics?
Do they honestly believe that their remixes are even close to the originals? |

I am not too bothered with remixes, if they stink I don't listen to them.
However compare it to something else... like car industry, every year you get a new slightly improved model, that basicly looks like the old one, but no one is upset over it.
So I don't think trance will die either just because of remixes.
Remixes give freedom for everyone to experiment and edit tunes, and that's something new and fresh in a certain way, actually that's what many DJs do. |

dont be so sure about it. remember what happened to goa trance in the end of 90s. hundredes of labels was spitting out goa trance tunes which was pure crap. this lead to the death of the entire genre. |

that is exactly the point, and worth reading all those times. Get creative or get off the bandwagon. Everyone who remade in the old days did so because they'd created a reputation for producing new material, now everyone does it and trance has lost a lot of the fans who made it what it's been for the last 10 years. Shame on it |

some of the repressings are awful, i got the fire + ice ep thing because my copy of silent cry sounds like due to overplaying
the new copy sounds worse, has a really low input gain + skips... in the middle of the record too

its the same with house music as well.. most house is basically disco reworked.. or 80s reworked
i personally dont mind it if the job is done right.. there is tons of new material out there.. its up to the djs / listeners to promote it :p |
