i dont like hunting. i killed gophers a while back but thats because they were being pests and messing up our lawn. and if an animal comes on my property and ruins it, ill kill it gr.. but if it doesnt ruin the landscape then carry on :) damn the wabbits are cool :D
hunting is such a stupid sport. maybe if they were hungry and had no food around, then sure, run after the animal with a spear and try to kill it, but staying still and hidden from an animal and shooting it from a distance is being a . hunters are pussies. |

I'd disagree, I used to go fishing alot when I was younger.
I enjoyed it, no challange really, just liked going fishing with my family. Maybe it's more a group activity?
You can say it's differnt to hunting deer and stuff if you like, but I'd say fishing is easier. Though perhaps fishing can't really be defined as hunting. Depends how you put it. |

no way, I am sure there were some civilised ancestors that were vegetarians.
plus, do you guys know where the meat you eat comes from? if so, whats teh big deal about hunting animals?
also certain places need population control of animals, like in michigan, if we didn't ahve deer season there would be a lot more wrecked cars. ;).

I think hunting is stupid, sure, but I dont have a big problem with it as long as the animal is killed in a humane way, and as long as most of it is used (eaten) Hunting purely for fur, or sport is wrong. But hunting for meat isnt really any worse than picking up a pound of ground beef at the market.
I'm strongly against fur though. Leather etc. Is alright, because we eat the meat too right? But killing purely for fur, like they do with the smaller animals is stupid. Especially when there is no need for fur, or even leather in our society anymore.
I still think eating meat is important, and healthy though. People say oh eating meat is stupid, we dont need it anymore, we have vitamin fortified . Well, you better not eat lettuce, because its nutrients can be found elsewhere, why kill plants needlessly? Oh wait, I bet something died to put those vitamins in that geletain capsule too didnt they...? |

That reminds me of those vegetarian idiots who say that we're torturing cows by keeping them "imprisoned," as if they would somehow be better off if we just released them all into the forest...
The stupidity of hunting in my view comes not from any type of moral judgment, but the, well, stupid way that people hunt which seems to maximize the amount of time spent sitting on your ass doing precisely nothing. I'll never understand the satisfaction of sitting in a blind for four hours and waiting for some defenseless animal to wander over to your bait and then shooting it. That's like saying that you're going to go "hunting" for water, and you go outside and sit in the middle of a sidwalk waiting for it to rain - and then when it finally does, trying to claim it as some sort of accomplishment that you successfully found water. |
