just put in your windows cd, itll guide you through the whole thing. itll ask you if you want to install windows, say yes, pick the active partition, itll format it, and reinstall. cd drives are plug n play for the most part so you dont have to worry about that at all |
So I don't even need to run the DOS prompt and type the infamous string? Well, I'm going to do it within a couple of hours. If I don't post after than, wait a little longer :D
ps.: I'm re-installing Win 98, by the way |

As far as I remember, to install Win98 you will have to boot into DOS first, to do so, you will need a bootup disk, 3.5" floppy.
Now, better make sure that is working before you start formatting...hehe
If your drive is broken, there might be a way to put the bootup files onto a CD and make it bootable (haven't done it myself, so can't help you there) |

| It's likely you will need a boot disk with CD-ROM support, because most computers old enough to have had win98 on them can't boot from CD-ROM. This was the case when I reformatted my bedroom computer with win98 about a year ago. So I suggest making sure your FDD is in order before you attempt this. If you need to buy a new one, they cost about $5. |

Well, I managed to create a boot disk (with CD-Rom support ;)) and realised that it's not broken (it was just a bug a few months ago).I believe it's all set.
Anyway, I'm going to do it now. Thanks for the help. Pray for me. |
