This is just going on the information i've been told by my brother.
He got an email from pipex telling us about the upgrade terms and conditions. If your already on 2meg then I shouldn't think this will apply to you. I think this is just them trying to get us to go onto a capped deal instead of unlimited ;) |
decided to do a quick readup on the situ;
1. im on 1mbit
2. i just went thru signup... got this
You have selected a 2048Kbps Unlimited service
£33.99
per month
i pay 33.99 a month now for 1mbit, paid my 15 over to upgrade to 2mbit which is the above price + unlimited
3. go kick your brother in the balls
so i shall be raping the pipex service on unlimited bandwidth @ 2mb for many moons to come

Was that information for someone that is upgrading from a 512 connection though?
I'll kick him in the balls anyway ;)
*edit* because we're on 512 so they gave us an option of upgradeing to 1meg ulimited or 2meg with a 15GB cap ;) |

Yeah I know. Seeing as we're almost always streaming online radio its not a very clever idea to go for a service that has a cap.
Sorry if you saw hugely sized letters by the way, still trying to get used to the size command on vbulletin, i'm too used to invision lol |

tbh id rather have unlimited downloads at 750k then some download cap at 2mb when im at home .. |
So is there a limit on NTL with the upgrades?? |

seems so im afraid .. im more hesitant these days then to jump on a supposed offer as this one ..
the user policy reads:
| quote: | | "Normal use" of the service is defined as up to 1 gigabyte downstream of data transfer daily (which equates to approximately 200 music tracks, 650 short videos, 10,000 pictures or around 100 large software programmes downloaded per day). |
I cant help but feel that this free upgrade is being financed by a surrender on the part of the customer of an unlimited service to a cap enforced line .. not good |

the score is ntl will "moniter" this limit atm and only inforce it later on down the line when the select few who leavve their conection on 24/7 downloading affect the local service for others, people who have 1 or 2 days heavy downloading a month have nowt to worry about (I spent a fair few hours reading threads on http://www.cableforum.co.uk/?
a good source for info on UK cable BB + tv) |
