the score is ntl will "moniter" this limit atm and only inforce it later on down the line when the select few who leavve their conection on 24/7 downloading affect the local service for others, people who have 1 or 2 days heavy downloading a month have nowt to worry about (I spent a fair few hours reading threads on http://www.cableforum.co.uk/?
a good source for info on UK cable BB + tv) |
1 or 2 days heavy downloading? what about the rest of the month then? just web browsing and such? |

| i just wish they could improve the upload a bit more. it's all well and good having a massive download speed, but most bittorent sites i use require a ratio...and it still takes ages to upload at 25kbps. |

| OK then well I'll stay well clear of the "upgrades". What's wrong with this country anyway, are we still living in the dark ages or something?? Most of Europe have got faster internet speeds than us. It seems like we're behind when it comes to the internet, which I dont understand because I'm sure we use the net as much as any other country. These ISP's want to get their act together. :p |

it took some doing but i eventually managed to extract my username and password for my broadband that i was given back in July 2001 when i originally took it out, but got there in the end. ing indian call centres.
anyway, 2mbit, woot. Personally the download cap doesnt effect me, i dont download alot, so would rather have increased brousing speed.
Plus the upload has gone from 15kb/sec (750k cable) to 25kb/sec (2mbit).
NTL told me on the phone that all customers will automatically be increased so those in doubt if they want to do it or not have no choice, but how long it is until your done is anyones guess. |

surely they cant do that without our permission. fair enuff upgrading the speeds but they cant impose download restrictions which we originally didnt sign up for. |

| as said, i think you'll have to go some to get called up for overuseage. and even if you are, just say "hey, when i signed i signed for unlimited use, whats going on". |

| In which case ill happily wait until they do the upgrade just incase pressing the button to upgrade myself means that i accept the new user policy with the 1gb quotas enforced .. |
