Hello, I'm new at producing.
Some friends of mine are actually using fruity loops but I didn't find a good house drums set there..
I'm on a laptot, so what is in your opinion the best software to begin and learn how to make music? :D
Thank You.
Stino
well...fruityloops and just get yourself some good house samples then :). Fruityloops is great for starters.

Btw use the search option on this forum, there are loads of tracks here that cover your problem.
KaBaLaH
what do you mean? house drums samples ?
AudioGuru
you can buy/ or download all kinds of one shot, loop and other drum samples from various sources. I've found that good drum sounds are hard to come by. I've never used fruity loops, but I"ve heard it's good for beginners. my advice is to read a book about how to use a sequencing program, this will help you find out the limitations of what you're working with.

p.s. practice practice practice

i was wondering what is the programs that professionals like tiesto and armin and van dyk ....etc use

I know for a fact that armin uses Logic, because it says it on his web-site. not sure about tij and pvd. also, armin uses protools, and reason. I'd say most big time guys use a simaler combo maybe swapping logic with cubase. to start out with though I'd chose either logic, or cubase(with maybe reason simitaniously) and just learn one really well to start off with. I've used cubase and Logic, and I'll probably stick with logic. ATB uses cubase by the way.

I suggest sticking with FL-Studio. It's small, compact, easy to use, expandable via VST/DX synths/fx, and surprisingly powerful. For house music, it's pretty damn good if you use the right samples/synths. There's no need to use Logic or Cubase as they do the exact same things just in a different way, and I'm sure once one of those is installed, you'll be back in this forum asking for a good house kit.

IMHO, Reason sucks. ;)

I use FL-Studio and have had no problems getting signed, and I write trance/dnb/experimental/game and movie soundtracks within it. It's all about learning *your* software, and picking one that works best for you. If you're not happy with FL, cool, then you might want to check out Logic and Cubase (and it'd be wise to check them out anyways just to see what they offer).

And, yes, practice. Don't give up until you've put in 1,000 hours =) I'm sure, by then, you'll be a lot more comfortable with your software of choice and producing will be 99% fun 1% work ;)
Ronners
The best thing to do is find a few people with various programs and test which one you are comfortable with, I used Cubase for two years untill I used Logic and now im using logic 7 and ive never looked back. As for samples everybodys right check the web, sample cd's, or even sample from your records or CDs with somthing like cool edit, or if you have logic, EXS 24. Remember, there is no set way of doing things, just what is comfortable. Good Luck mate, be sure to post your track when it gets done!

Sample Fusion has some pretty good sample CDs, I plan on snagging a few myself (already downloaded tons of their free samples and I was quite impressed). If you ever want help with technique or whatever, TA is a great place for some advice. And like Ronners said, please post your work for us ;)

FL is the only thing i've ever used, and i'm pretty sure its more powerful than some people think. From my experience of people talking about it, its like the "beginners" software. In a way thats correct, because after all it is the most user friendly, (comparing comments on other software).

You can do alot that you can do on other more powerful software. I find i'm discovering new things all the time, that greatly improve the usability and output of FL. And i'm certain theres more great features lurking about.

Despite this, i thinking of venturing to new software. The one i'm going to go for is Logic. I already know a great hard trance producer from Isreal who uses it, and the sounds he gets are flawless. Its just a daunting thought however, leaving the comfortable, accessible layout of FL Studio, because i've already seen the interface of logic platinum, lets just say last time i saw so many knobs....ahem....scratch that :D
