Only idiots that don't understand soccer say that. I've heard the argument and it's pathetic.
"Mass genocide is the most exhausting activity there is, next to soccer." |

ahhhh....I cant take it anymore.....
OK guess what AM football uses what other sports dont.....Intelligence....(i.e see quarterback)
Quarterbacks (The main guy who touches the ball first) have to STUDY film constantly thru the week......Yes Am Football requires u to study...even on the HS level...A quaterterback needs to learn 100's of plays, know what everybody on the feild is doing, and also be able to indentify what the defnese(1 defensive formation can have as many as 30 variations, defenses have over 20 diff formations as well)is doing to make good decisions on who and where to throw the ball to...They are the general on the field....he runs the show...He must know everything that is happening...
Offensive Line (The big fat guys) - Believe it or not takes a great deal of intelligence as well.....On just one play an offensive linemen will have 1 of 20 diff things he might have to do....depending on how the defense lines up and if a line backer is blitzing his gap, who/how the other lineman are blocking ect....
Linebacker (The mean guys) - Linebacker need to be able to quickly identify a pass or run w/in the first few secs after the snap...If its a pass play he needs to know who to cover depending on the formation and it often changes when the offense goes into motion or the offense makes a shift....If its a run he needs to make sure he is responisible for the hole the runner is attempting to run thru....OFten u dont have much time to think about....You can only react...He must study film for hours and hours per week to be able to plug the hole before the ruuner makes it thru...
Now name me a ing sport that requires intelligence... |

oh yea i stil have more talking..;)
Am football players are faster, stronger and quicker than any other sport's players.....
I bet u Michael Vick can not only out-run any soccer player on the field but can out-lift all of them as well....
Ray Lewis could not only outrun any soccer player but outlift....
Am football players are the best all around athletes...
DISCLAIMER: Not once did i call euro football players pusssies, girls, ect. I have much respect for the sport and the players who are athletically and skillfully gifted.
But when compared to Am football and the intricacies of the game, there's no comparison.
You may be able to compare Euro football w/ Basketball as both of those are purely skill sports.....But the only similarites Am
football and euro football have are the name.... |

I like college too but no way. The Pro game is much faster and more powerful. Take the best of the best college players, make them better, and put them in a league together and you got some wild head-knockin' . Those guys play 110% as they're also playing for championships/contracts/roster spots. There are some crazy plays made in the pros by super-athletes that are amazing.
Usually people who only watch college say that. I watch both. College does have good rivalries but as far as action goes pro is better. |
like I said you'll have people on both sides who either like College better or the Pros better..
but another thing I like about college football is that it's not just one city that represents your team (Denver, San Francisco, Washington etc..) it's different schools and conferences.. There's so many divisons as well. So even if you don't have an alma mater you can still root for another school in the state you live in. |

And all that adds up to team co-ordination. There's NO superstars in Football. One good player cannot carry a team. The whole team, from end to end, defense to offense, has to be flawless. |

Not saying you're right, but that logic is flawed. It sounds like you haven't even played sports. ALL SPORTS REQUIRE INTELLIGENCE. Soccer needs a lot of it too *GASP*! I don't know jack about soccer but I know a lot of it has to do with positioning just like USfootball. Will he run this way? If he goes this way then I must go this way. All games have a rock/paper/scissors area to it. Basketball for example. Once you have the ball in basketball you can either shoot/pass/dribble aka the tripple threat. The defender can anticipate one those things right after he gets the ball but if he guesses wrong he'll lose positioning or he'll be down 2-4 points. That's just a quick example, doesn't happen all the time though right after getting the ball. And wrestling and jujitsu has so much attention to detail. Infact the smarter guy usually always wins even if he's smaller and weaker. Because of mindgames, positioning and all that. |
