Hey guys, hope you all had an amazing time at STATE, we are very happy you all came and became part of the first state of progression. Your smiles made us smile, we enjoyed ourselves as well. Regardless whether or not we succeeded financially, we succeeded in making people happy.
We are sorry that we couldn't make the time to take care of you better at the party, things just got a little crazy and there were many situations that needed our full attention. We were pretty overwhelmed at the time, but we definitely didn't forget about you all.
We would like to send you your gifts by courier, so could you please email us your mailing address? You will recieve your package in about two or three weeks, it'll have lot's of stuff you probably weren't expecting as well! I guess the lunch/dinner thing didn't work out to well either. Can you believe we didn't even get a chance to go either? It was a crazy weekend.
Next time we'll get someone to specifically take care of all contest winners and that way this won't happen again. Nick and I were excited to meet all of you and thought we would have the time, sorry it didn't turn out that way. That's alright though, hopefully we'll get some time at Wintergalactic? So send us your info so we can get this taken care of, we can't wait to meet again!

P.S> we will be having a small party in the next couple of months with an 8 hour set by Orkidea. it will be a small party, first come first serve. 19+ at a currently undisclosed location. Orkidea will perform a live/pa as well as a six or eight or however long we stay set on the decks. This will be a very magical night of music unlike anything heard before. Digweed is nothing on Orkidea, and if you believe me now about Armin being better than Tiesto or Ferry then you know I mean what I say. An eight hour set by Orkidea will
take you higher and further into a dreamland than anything experienced in a long time! We'll keep you all updated. Talk soon,

I am sorry that all my words embarrassed you guys, but all i said is my opinion (not only mine), i lost my life in the country i came from, i came here 3 years ago, i bacame different, ppl wont understand me anymore there SO, I AM TRYING TO CHANGE SMTH HERE (In Toronto) and I am tired of it. in 3 years I could do nothing. Remember my thread "LETS GET TOGETHER TORONTONIANS and TORONTONIANS UNITE". We were supposed to meet so many times, I remember the night where we were supposed to meet before we went for Nick Warren, it was freezing outside, i had to wait for you guys, and NOBODY SHOWED UP, NOBODY. Arcticboy, u told me u had a bithday party, or smth, i understand, thanks for remembering, it felt really good for me that u remembered, at least smth....How about 50 other TA's that were replying in the thread and saying "THATS AWESOME IDEA, I AM IN". Well nobody was in, and it is everytime like that, i am tired in 3 years the same , IT IS JUST EMPTY WORDS, nothing solid. I asked everybody to leave their phone numbers and nothing, nobody did, exept Arcticboy, and TranceArmada (I called those numbers u gave me guys, they didn't work though). anyone can say GO BACK TO YOUR COUNTRY, but i think we should try to make life better here. All i need is just your help guys.

Seeing as this is my 3rd time posting in this thread I'll keep it short. But I just wanted to make a comment on how interesting it is. Articboy your post was brilliant, I couldn't of said it better myself. And Armada, look man, Sonic State has your ass, like I told you they would. They really aren't promoters at all, but really human beings hah.
Orkidea has nothing on digweed? Let's back up boys. :D Did we not see that Dj 100 list? haha I know I know, it means . But geez.
I'm sorry to hear you guys financially didn't do well. I'm soo bitter with the party scene. When did it just start to disapear? I don't get it. Who is to blame? Is it hip hop? It has to be hip hop! haha Kidding*

My God, from what I've heard about State, if you were to compare them against our major promoters here in Montreal "514 Productions"..... State would be considered saints!!! :D
I can't recall ever reading anythinTo be honnest I don't remember reading anything negative about State, so if there's stuff out there that I missed, sorry. I think I can recall reading something about how they were having a get together to show a video from one of there parties (I think it was Wintergalastic, but I could be wrong), which is just such a cool thing!!!
I'm not even going to bother to make a list of all the ways that 514 has screwed us, there's way too many, and a lot of them have already been listed in the Montreal forum, so if you want examples, you can for sure find them by searching ;) With 514 they'll make promises and not even try to keep them, they wont care, they wont go out of there way for any special redemption, but that's something that we've become accustomed to here in Montreal, and we know there parties are like gambling, because you never know if they're just going to screw you!!
Don't get me wrong, 514 can put on the best parties, and they can do some dam good promoting, but as far as caring for there clients, that's not apparent at all. So if you have a promoting company that's going out of their way to do there best for you, appreciate it, it's a special thing!!! With all the stories that I've gathered over the years from promoters, it's not an easy thing to promotes, there's always unexpected problems, the important thing is how they deal with it, do they turn there heads and not look at you? or do they redeem themselves by showing they care?

Mandrick, it's not about us being "embarrased" at all. You were just being very harsh towards the SS boys and unfairly generalizing Canada and Canadians (as you have in previous threads). If "real" Canadians were saying something similar about immigrants from one place just cuz they had a bad experience with someone from there, or because they visited the country and didn't like it, people would be all pissed off at the "stereotype", "prejudice", or "racism". Thus, us immigrants of all people should be sensitive about generalizations.
I'm sorry that you have taken some of the things you've encountered on the site or in Canada so personally. Let me give you some insight. We enjoy a high standard of living in Canada, but pay a big price for that. People are busy. Life is complicated here. Most people are also working a lot. So, I know I for one often want to do more than I can handle, and hence sometimes make promises I can't keep, not cuz I was not sincere when I made them. These get togethers are supposed to be fun, and to allow us to relieve our weekly stresses, not to create more stress in worrying about keeping the "commitments". By the way, the place you chose last time was really out of the way, so that might have been why some people could not meet you there.
Anyway, if you're looking for friends, you've got some right here on the sight. Just try no to be so negative and let's party! As a start, why don't you come to System tomorrow night to see Danny Howells, I'm going for sure. The phone number I gave you does work (I'll PM you again), did you dial 1? I'm in Hamilton, so it's long distance. |

That's not the point of this whole post, I just want to hear the feed back from the rest of the TA's! If I sounded like I was bitching, I am sorry that is not what I meant. I understand that there were pressures on the promoters, but the point I wanted to get to was that there should be at least a person who takes care of all the VIP's! Just like Andree said it! |
