What's it like at Ultra?

I noticed the banner on the TA homepage and was just curious as to what the event is like. How do 100+ DJ's perform in a 13 hour timespan? Does each act get 15 minutes or are there multiple venues (I'm sure it's not the former but I honestly don't know)? Is it really worth going? Is it like a total zoo there with so many people or is it actually possible to have a good time? How do you know who is performing at what time and where?
Yeah, I guess I've run out of questions...:eyespop: |

To answer quickly though, there's over ten stages with about a dozen performers per stage through the day. Each performer gets a time slot as little as 45 minutes or as long as two hours.
Zoo? Kind of. If you're in the front row closest to the stage when van Dyk goes on, most definitely. The venue, bayfront park, is big enough to support 50,000 people (and then some) so you can always find an empty spot to chill out for a while. |

| IMO, Ultra blows. DJ's have like a half hour to play so they all play thier top 5 records no one really (except a few) get to spread out and mix a proper set. All the names on teh flyer will not perform, many of the lower level talent gets bumped. Good luck figuring out who plays when(and when you do it doesn't matter anyway 'cause their never on time anyway) It's a big cluster with people everywhere and when the sun goes down people are all ed up and its mad crowded so people are knocking into you and such..... |

In addition to that, since there are so many arenas of sound, you could poll 100 different people and everyone would have a different experience.
It is like no other event in the US. |

If it werent for Ultra I wouldnt have seen so many quality DJ's that it has brought from the very beginning.. through their lifetime, they've prob. have brought EVERY huge Dj or whoever ... is just awesome, and no, no one knocks u down wtf lol. |
