--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

TORONTO (CP) _ The union representing some 5,500 employees at the
Liquor Control Board of Ontario is conducting strike votes across the
province.

In the first round of voting held Sunday, the Ontario Liquor Boards
Employees' Union says members voted 94.7 per cent in support of strike
action to support contract demands.

Voting is being conducted through the week at almost 30 locations
across the province. The union was unable to say how many employees
took part in Sunday's vote.

The union said it expects to announce the final result of the strike
vote on March 19.

The current collective agreement expires on March 31 and the union
could be in a legal position to strike as early as mid-April.

Good let them strike. Then people will see how riduculous it is to be paid $22 an hour to be a cashier at the LCBO. Maybe then we will finally get private sales.

GO ON STRIKE PLEASE!!!!

Fack eh? They decide to go on strike right about the time I run out of money.

No stocking up for me.

that will mean clubs wont have booze either. Everything comes from the LCBO and clubs can only sell LCBO booze by law. This is why its time to privatize.

they should make LCBO sales an essential service and make it illegal to strike.. :D

edit: whats with all these overpaid lazy ******s? TTC, LCBO...

I just asked my friend who worked at an LCBO. She was temporary part time and they paid her $12 an hour. The fulltimers start at 16 and get raises after a certain time. I think it's yearly.

Still, for what they do, they don't deserve that kinda pay.

:)
