Listen - if your splicing cable, your lowering the signal db, which will effect your internet quality (if you're using cable). |

It's the standard one that Rogers was (still is?) selling.... Motorola Surfboard 5100. |

I have a buddy that did the same thing, except he went and bought a digital cable box, he gets all the chanels, no restriction. I wanted to do that but my wife considers it stealing and has some sort of problem with that. |

I don't think that a digital box is the only thing you need. Wouldn't you need some kind of decoder card as well. All of the digital signals are encrypted, so without the proper key, it's a no-go.
I wonder what's happening with the hacked satellite world now. Last I heard cards were getting zapped left and right, and the new protocols weren't up to par yet. |

Good question, All I see is the normal box but he may have had it chipped or something. I'll ask.
As far as I'm aware the Direct TV signal can no longer be pirated. I have no idea about the Canadian providers. |

I have been watching endless DVD's as my form of entertainment after comign home at midnight (from work)
I do the usual thing - but i wanted to watch my recorded copy of american beauty, to my surprise when I turned on the VCR, I have CABLE!!!! AGAIN! woohoo! So I have all 75 channels! I need a TV guide now! and the bloody Toronto Star was sold out at all four locations i passed on the way to work :(
anyone know of an online e-zine of the Tv guide???
also - not related - but wanted to share the news -
this lady at my work is selling me a 100 CD Pioneer system for 5 bucks! (there has to be some sort of money transaction in order to receive items residents at thias retirement home have!)
anyways! I am super excited to go home tonight and sort out my pimpin' room!!!!
