Hmmmm that's weird...I've got a 15Gig 3rd Generation iPod and I love it...no problems at all...although I think the battery meter is a bit ed lol.

My brothers 3G works fine too. It's the 4G's that I hear have the most problems.

Maybe they just cut corners on this one, that way they could sell them off to the masses and profit more.

I bought my gf a 20GB Ipod for christmas, and right out of the box the battery was ed. It wouldnt hold a charge at all.
So we return it, get another 20GB and it doesnt work AT ALL!

WTF!!!

I was soo tempted to buy an Ipod from the get go... I have no clue why I haven't yet.

After hearing all of these issues revolving around dependancy and battery issues, I might just hold off a bit longer.

Dude. www.ephpod.com

Get that iTunes off of your system, and be free of a ty interface. Get EphPod! It's THE BEST iPod file transfer software out there.

Plus the price for the 4gig just dropped by over a 100 beans and the new ones have a new cpu that uses 1/3 the battery power. This is cause they have a 6gig version now.
Bitches...
I paid almost 3 fiddy for mine like less than 2 months ago.

Welcome to the wonderful world of electronics today I guess!

But dude I had the same or similar issue and you can hard re-boot the pod to set it back to normal, I just forget how to do it. I think you press menu and the button in the middle at the same time for like 10 secs.

My biggest beef for the money is not being able to totally remove the gaps for mixed set that are split into individual tracks!!!

This is because of the MP3 format. Not an IPod issue.

And stay away from Iriver CD Players.
