What a piece of crap. UGHHHHH
First, the scroll wheel doesn't work. It only senses my touch on about a 1/4 of the wheel. Tedious to scroll.
Second, without even dropping it ever there's a strange rattle inside. hmmmm.....
Third, the thing stopped syncing with my PC out of the blue. Just wouldn't recognize. First I get a "device not recognized" message when I try pluging it in. I google that and I solve that problem. Now teh computer recognizes it, but it loads it up as a hard drive. Itunes won't even recognize it.
So I reinstall the software, and I reconfigure the thing. It wiped out all my music off of it. Not only that, it still won't sync to itunes. !!!
Now I have an empty 20 gig iPod that I can't listen to on the way to class anymore, and I can't figure out how to get songs back on it.
I'm getting an iRiver next time.

Now i have over 35gigs and its all backed up... i am NEVER going thru that again!! EVER!
^^^^ Oh, i guess ud have all those mp3s still saved locally on ur HD... nevermind my above rant then about losing permentally all ur music files! :( |

I bought it the last week of August last year. The problems started 4 months later.
The funny thing is 2 of my housemates bought iPod mini's less than a month ago, and they're starting to get alot of problems with theirs too.
A guy I know who works at the campus computer store says that the iPod has quality issues, not only that, they're encouraging people to opt for the creative nomad instead just so they don't have to deal with customer complaints all the time. They make less profit on the nomads too. They're just sick of telling people to "mail the ipod to this address".

I love my iPod and have always had an iPod since they were first introduced. Only problem was that I broke my 5GB unit's headphone jack while drunk one night. It was hilarious at the time.
$400 later for a 3rd-gen 15GB, and it wasn't so funny. |

brand new I assume? i have heard there are issues with the 4G ipod. did you get a 4G or a 3G?
my 3G runs excellent, and apart from having to use iTunes to transfer over music, i can't really complain. |

| I have a 3rd gen 20 gig, and I have had so many problems. I have the apple care plan so I send it back and a week later they send me a refurbished one. I have done this about 5 times now and I have had mine for a year and a half !! |
