Best way to recooperate (pg. 3)

| last year i started taking 5-htp a month before i left for Miami every night before bed. Then a couple of days prior to Ultra i started taking 100mg before bed and then the day of i took 150mg about 5 hours before i was planning on to drop. Once I started coming down i took 100mg and it worked out great, I rolled nuts and felt ok the day after. |

Everybody I know who's tried it, says it just dilutes the peak. If you're planning on rolling day after day, I don't think it's going to work on the second day anyway. :p My friend tried that on a 36-hour New Years marathon, and he said the second night just made him sketchy and sick.
5-htp is a supplement, not a magic recovery drug. It will not enable you to fully recover in one single day. Your body needs time, plain and simple - you can take supplements to alleviate your sketchiness the next day, but your brain chemistry really needs about 1 month to get back to normal, or at least a good week to get back to functional levels. Of course I know people aren't going to wait a week for recovery at WMC, but try to give it at least a few days!

A lot of my info came from a doctor and a biology grad student. ;) FYI, I'm not by any means a frequent user, but all it takes is a little research and maybe a few mistakes.
When you say "afterwards", are you referring to immediately after the comedown or the next day? If it's a good few hours later then stress caplets (or just plain vitamin B complex, look for the big-ass B-50 pills) with a good helping of 5-htp will do nicely. If it's immediately after, then unless you want to go the cig/spliff/other drugs route, you're S-O-L.
I've never really had harsh comedowns, but taking half a pill about 90 minutes after the first one usually makes that comedown more gradual... that's good if your anxiety is a reaction to the pill, bad if it's psychological.
(Don't hurt me DawnTreader, I know that's not directly related to recovery but how you manage your night can have a major effect on how easy it is to recover! :p)

ty for the info:). only done it twice. first time, felt anxious as hell afterwards. second time i felt only slightly anxious. this could have to do with the fact that i take paxil daily for anxiety. anyway, i dont like it as much as the good ole green stuff and a few dirty martinis, so i'm fine to just not do it and save some brain cells for grad school. the thought of having to get on a plane with that anxious feeling is enough to make me say no also. |

It almost definitely has to do with the fact that you take Paxil. SSRIs completely change the character of a roll. |

| AIRBORNE. Those dissolvable tablets some teacher invented, because she kept getting sick from her students. That knocks down an oncoming cold dead in its tracks. You feel like a million, after taking it. It has something like a billion percent of everything. I'm stocking up on those to wipe out my hangovers. :D |
