DDTT - Dark Dirty Tribal Tech, or is it ?
If there was one question that was bothering me the most for the past 3 or 4 months, it's Just what the hell is DDTT?. I always knew that it stands for Dark Dirty Tribal Tech, but what does that mean? In other words, I wanted the ability to recognize whether a track is DDTT or not.
And so.. on friday night during Steve Lawler party where DDTT potential was high (or not), I decided to collect data, and then use it to derive a formula that would identify a track as DDTT or not. What I discovered in process of doing that was shocking to say the least.
As there currently isn't any literature on the subject of DDTT, I decided to consult DDTT authority (RabbitJoker, StereoPrincess and HighRoller) in search of my answers. Throughout the night I would independently ask the 3 DDTT experts whether currently playing track was DDTT or not.
When I first asked them about a track and got conflicting answers I felt a bit uneasy, but made nothing of it. The night was long. Soon, however, their disagreemenets became a pattern. In fact I don't think there was one track for which they reached a consensus.
This leads me to believe that DDTT does not exist ! It's a hoax ! An evil scheme designed to trick, deceive and confuse us ! I have yet to determine the true purpose of the DDTT conspiracy; but I assure you - I will get to the bottom of this ! |

I can only verify that Durafei asked "Is this DDTT?" at least 10 times within the first 2 hours of the night.
After the 3rd or 4th questioning - I changed my response strategy from "assist" to "confuse". When asked "is this DDTT?" my response was an affirmative "yes", followed by a 60 second delay, and then an absolute negative "no".

I am far from an expert on DDTT and in fact I was only consulted once. So therefore your sample size for this experiement is dangerously low. First you need to do a power calculation for the amount of human subjects (these subjects cannot have confounding characteristics - for example, like being tone deaf like me, or being funny like RJ, that's right, no funny people). Second of all you need to do a power calculation for the amount of songs heard by each individual to make a definite decision.
Yours was a pilot study and there seems to be a need to set up a true experiment. |
