Someone I know: "DUDE AWESOME you gonna smoke awesome joints!?"
Me: "You know there's more to do in Amsterdam than smoke joints"
Someoone I know: "Who cares you're in Amsterdam you gotta smoke something"
Me: "I want to go see Van Gogh, Rembrandt, and the arts and cultural events and museums...and go to Innercity"
Someone I know: "That's gay...boring"

...so therefore I am going alone ;) :toothless ...plus the previously mentioned nobody can plan anything, plus it was literally a last minute dicision.

*EDIT*
Also when you go with a group of people you hardly ever meet anyone new cause you're always together as a group...you get to meet many more people if you're on your own :) It's quite fun actually

Of course there's more...there's the women behind the windows...:o And the weed, the brownies, the women...you get the idea. :o

Sometimes, it's good to go with a friend who can play wingman for when you spot those 2 cute girls at the museum.

"Excuse me girls, we're lost, can you direct us into your pants?"

:)

Well, back a year or two ago I would have said I could never travel alone, but now I think it would be pretty easy. It really depends on where I'm going and what I'll be doing there though. If I were going around to party, I'd rather be with friends, but if I was going to see the sights, I think I would rather be on my own, so I could go at my own pace.

Unlike here, people there are willing to meet new people and make new friends.

"omg like...who's this weirdo talking to me? can't he bother someone else?? "

travling in group is the real way to have fun :eyespop:

surprising how many people prefer alone, I guess it's a North American thing ;)

you go alone but make friends over there fast. If i wasnt able to make friends in europe like i was it would have sucked.

Exactly how people here think. Or they think that "this person wants something"

Europe isnt like that and its hard to get out of the toronto mentality at first and realize that strangers genuinely want to be friends and party with you.

And that among many other reasons why I can't wait to go back. :D

Most people in Toronto feel intimidated for some odd reasons when a stranger says, "Hi there, how are you doing?" to them. That's called being friendly and try to make friends. And I have to agree with what Jayx1 said about people in Europe, they generally are more friendly and easy going when comparing to Toronto. But not just in Europe either, many other countries in Asian also.

Myself is traveling alone to Thailand in a week time, even though I've never been to the country but there won't be anything to worry about in terms of meeting people or such. I've noticed people that are pround of what their country has to offer in like arts, history, culture & etc. are a lot more friendly and give the outsiders a welcome feeling

I'm in! Just need to actually find the time first...stupid coop/school doesn't give me time to breathe for more than a week max. :nervous:

Same here. Except I don't think I'll even get a week. :(

I'd go in a heartbeat if I didn't have co-op.

The best thing ive ever heard an outsider say about Toronto is "people here seem to be socially retarded"

ahahahahahahha

Ditched some peeps for part of Europe....and Did Morrocco-Africa alone. Was absolutely fun. Saw a lot and met a lot of peeps. Got a lot of free booze too hehehehehe

I'd do it again. Doing it alone can have it's advantages :D
The only one that has to know you've done new and stupid things b/c you felt like it---->is you :toothless

And that's why I've never had an embarrassing story to tell :p
Jayx1
i tell my embarrasing stories anyways...

it's half the fun!!
