Hey Pat, what did you think of Morocco? Aaron and I have chatted a few times about it being somewhere we would like to go. I would have loved to experience Morocco back in the days of the White Night Parties on the beach.
I traveled Europe with friends and was glad as a female that I did have company. The men in Europe seemed to target the females who were traveling alone. I couldn't imagine having them pester you all day as you walk thru the streets.
My favorite part of traveling with someone from home is that when you return you have that person to share the stories with forever. In 96' when I traveled to France, Spain and Portugal my friend and kept a "Why ask Why" section in our journals where at the end of the day we would write down all the crazy stuff we saw people doing. To this day we still pull out the WHY ASK WHY list and laugh our asses off...almost 10 years later. |

whats funny is when europeans girls dont get attention and catcalled in europe they think something is wrong with the way they look.
So funny how different cultures react to different things. |

OMG...Morocco was the best of them all. I stayed there a week and never paid for anything. Everyone paid for my meals. the 5 star (balcony opened to the ocean) hotel manager comped part of my hotel bill as long as I promised to write and return there. I was invited to homes. I hired a private guide (dirt cheap to do that--worked out to $20 for an 8hr day) to take me around and he protected me from all the guys. It was totally funny. He kept slapping their hands. Leather was dirt cheap out there and I got a few antique rugs mailed back. Saved $$$$. The camel ride was a hoot. I made soo many friends and one of them was a cop who took me around to some parties....and I even got to sit in at a hush hush underground casino (during Ramadan Month ahahahaha). You guys would love it. If you go and get a guide...listen to him when he tells you to take a picture at a certain spot. Even if it doesn't look like much...listen to him. I was there when it was super hot and I suppose that's why the camel didn't smell so fresh. Oh and take the horse rides too...there is nothing as refreshing as the warm breeze hitting your skin.
Now Europe....that was awesome. I'll have to tell you about it next time....the experiences were spectacular and too long to write down. |

For TE 2005, I had a few interested in going but I kinda gave it on short notice, and no one could make it. I still said, it. I'm going even if I have to go alone.
I went to Colombia to be with family many years ago alone, and I had a ROTTEN time, but this latest trip....I loved it so much.
So, my question to you guys up here is, would you travel to a far off place alone, or would HAVE to go with someone? |
I travelled to south Korea for close to 2 years - Iw as lonely - I will never do it again!~
i also went to Montreal on my own when i was yonger - and trinidad all by myself! |

yeah and the experiences are much more crazy! Sometimes travel mates bog you down big time! My experience is that i end up hooking up with groups of people for a week or so and then move on. Or sometimes they convince me to go where they are going instead of what i had planned or likewise. It's all part of the fun of travelling. I loved the fact that the moment i landed in italy and it was raining i decided that i felt like having a souvlaki and took the next ferry to greece. Greece wasnt even on my agenda but i loved it so much i stayed for 3 weeks! |

travelling alone rules .. i did it most the summer last year in Europe .. telling u the best times u'll have are when ur partying with people you don't know .. :D
and OTHER ppl u DO know may drive u CRAZY .. :mad: :whip: :whip:

I'd rather go with friends, but they are such stay at home babies who have trouble looking further than the oh so great city of London, Ontario.:rolleyes: (or their 17 year old girlfriends...seriously) The biggest thing I can get them to do is go to Toronto for Tiesto or Labour of Love...one of my friends is willing to go as far NYC. WOW! So, chances are, when I graduate next year, I'll be ing off to Britain alone for a vacation and possibly graduate school if the funds work out.
I love my friends and everything...but I'm certainly not adverse to abandoning them for a more interesting life in Europe. |

**well I learnt how to read KOrean while there - took abot 7 months - and I can speak Korea at the same level as a 5 year old korean! :haha:
Nat many Koreans spoke English - it sucked for the most part - and I got really lonely there!
