Best Cartridge for trance?
View this Thread in Original format

hey guys, hope this hasn't been posted before but I was wondering the best type of cartridge for trance music. I was looking at all the stats of various cartridges and it looked Greek to me. I'm not inot scratching or any other type of music, so I guess my question is 2-fold. As a trance DJ what do I need to look for in a cartridge? What are the important "stats" to be concerened with before I purchase.

Thanks for the help

not sure, mostly any decent 35-100 dollar DJ geared cart is good, probably the Shure Trance cartridge is a decent buy.

I used to own Whitelable and really didn't like them. they were hit or miss. Some worked fine, some skipped like crazy on the correct settings. I have Ortofons DJs now....the blue ones. I'm extremely happy with them.

Good too, fair to say you might as well throw anything up by Ortofon. They generally don't make crap unless of course you happen to be a brand whore who just beleives that what you have is great and everything else is wank... and there are a lot of them around.

Bottom line is that there are very many good carts out there and it does kind of depend on the sound you want.

It still never fails to amaze me on how many different clubs I play at that still have stantons.

Cheers
