FFVII was released in JP, NA, and EU all during '97. This is almost half-way through the PS's life.

Cool. I got my playstation much later then that, but the availability of RPGs for it is what made me buy it :)
Minihero
Yeah, me too. Can't even remember what made me buy it now? Probably because everyone was banging on about them so much.

Plus I played RE 2 and ing loved it :D

I had that one too :D

I bought my playstation used. I traded like 100 NES, 50 SNES, and like 30 gameboy games and my NES, SNES, and GameBoy into babbages. I had like 500 dollars store credit.

ing hell, thats a lot to trade in :eyes:

I've still got a NES lieing about somewhere as well. Probably in the attic somewhere lol

7 was one of the best games to be released on any system period, from the then breakthrough graphics to the story to the weapons systems, and the fighting.

was anybody else here able to beat emerald weapon without getting the underwater breathing materia thing (i forgot what it's called)

i did it, quite easy actually...i'll put it up later if anybody is interested...

also for FF8 (the last rpg i played) there are 2 really easy ways to beat omega weapon and that stupid witch lady at the end...

one way is to have all of sophie's limit breaks, and then cast aura on her, and cycle through her turn till she get's the limit break "the end"........one hit kill on all enemies.....

the other way requires some manipulation but it's still pretty easy..

also, on a side note, was i the only one that liked the card game in FF8, i rocked at that game....i could beat anybody in the game with any of the rules...i got all the cards before i even got to the 4th disc

haha yeah. it was funny how many games i got like 10 cents for.

my NES and SNES collection was assumed from lots of garage sales and flea markets :D

xenogears is definately an underrated rpg. The story is just plain incredible, so complex and interesting, and you don't understand what's really going on until the end of the game (and it's easily an 80 hour game).

also, the battle system is by far the best I've ever seen in an rpg. The ability to use a bunch of different combos, with the different buttons, is really great.

7 was my favorite FF game ever. i had it for the PC, not PS. i really got into the game, and was actually was sad when that one girl died [and of course in the PC version you can't bring her back to life...damn!]

3 [US release] was also very good for the SNES.
