mine was last night...story time guys.
3 of my best friends and i were at this public park last night. my car was next to his, they smoked a cigarette and we left to play in the park. we spent about 45 minutes to an hour swinging, climbing on jungle gyms, going through the trails...just having a good time. we walk back and my friend jessica goes "david, your car's on fire." and i look over and his car is glowing orange. i thought he just left his interior light on for a second, then i see the flames moving. the guys run over to it, try to put it out, start grabbing out of the trunk so try and save it and me and jessica are SCREAMING at them to get back. as soon as they run back a few feet, the back winshield BUSTS open and we run further away and i call emergency. they send a firetruck over and it takes them 15 minutes to get there...all the while i'm waiting for his car to explode and catch MINE on fire, too, which is parked RIGHT NEXT to his. every now and then as we waited for the firetrucks, there is a pop of another winshield. there is so much smoke and we're all flipping out. my friend (whose car it was) is in tears, i'm trying to comfort him, we're all calling our parents and freaking out. the fire truck gets there and they put it all out, and inspect my car with a flashlight to see if there's any damage. miraculously, my car is 100% fine. not even melted paint. smoke POURED over my car constantly for like 15-20 minutes, but no damage. my friend's car, however, is DEMOLISHED. completely burned. he salvaged some stuff when he got stuff out of his trunk but he lost a bunch of clothes, his driver's license, his cellphone, his social security card, all of his school , all of his work , his paycheck, his boots, his CDs, his cigarettes, a blanket...so much ...just gone. he saved a hubcap which he then mounted on his wall today. the whole time we were watching his car burn. we kept expecting it to explode like cars do in movies, but he had an empty tank almost, so we were really lucky. everyone who was there is fine, but david lost everything. it was definately the craziest, most surreal and unexpected thing to EVER happen to me.
what about y'all?

i'm curious, pro... what kind of car do you drive? first you hit your neighbors car then the car next to yours catches fire and your car is still fine! sounds pretty indestructable to me!
i can't decide what the most crazy/insane to ever happen to me would be. i mean, i can think of a bunch of things but they're all crazy/insane in a different way, and there isn't one that sticks out in my mind more than the others. hmmmm. |

wow...
9-11 had a deep impact on my old HS since 10 alumni died and over 40+ people who were related to alumni, faculty, staff and students perished that day, including the uncle of one of my good friends :(
anyways, craziest thing that happened to me had to be living blackout of 2003 in NYC. Although there was no electricity, the whole city felt like one huge rave :thepirate |

Two things...
- I watched my grandmother die of an asthma attack when I was eight years old. Completely helpless. Nothing I could have done. (And no one else was there at the time.)
- I was once mistaken for another person in an airport... prompting the police to surround me, pull their guns, and require me to get down on the ground. I was then searched before they realized that I was the wrong guy. I didn't even get much of an apology. |
