That's a very good choice. |
I'm surprised no one has chosen it already.

Define melodic?
As in "cheesy"?
As in "not progressive"?
In that case, i think it's "Magik 7: Live in L.A.", by Dj Tiësto. |

The type of melodies featured in Airdrawndagger. I still havent found a way to describe these melodies but I can say theyre not Jazz melodies :stongue:
I'm not limiting it to the progressive type thats not important.
Just dreamy melodies that follow the style of Aidrawndagger's "Bloodlock", "Magnetic North", "Cloud Cuckoo".

ATB - Movin' Melodies, Two Worlds, No Silence (ATB, although you can love him or hate him, is a man of melodies)
Amethystium - Emblem (Selected Pieces) or any of his music, esp a lot of tracks on Aphelion like "Hymnody". Super melodic.
Ulrich Schnauss - Far Away Tains Passing By, A Strangely Isolated Place
Ryan Farish - Beautiful
Robert Miles - Dreamland, 23 AM
Blue Stone - Breathe, Worlds Apart
Armin van Buuren - Universal Religion, UR 2004, Boundaries of Imagination
Paul Oakenfold - Tranceport
Tiesto - Magik 1, 3, 4, and 5. ISOS 1, 2, 3 and 5
Ferry Corsten - Global Trancemissions 2: Ibiza |

This in my opinion is really really melodic.
I personally like it, the mixing is not that good, but I still listen to it after like 2 years of having it.
He came out with a new one "dj in the mix 2" but I haven't heard it, i bet it's probably similar. |
It is melodic. However it does have the worst mixing i've heard. I'm not a great mixer, but I can mix better than he could in this CD. What was he thinking? Some of it had the really quick "radio style" cuts (wouldn't say mixing) and some tracks he just quickly fades out and brings in the new track. And the transition thing from "Epic" to that attempted mash-up of the "9 PM Till I Come (Seqential One Remix)" and "Missing (Todd Terry Remix)" was disasterous. The whole quality of the CD degrades when they come in..like wtf?:disbelief There's maybe 5 tracks that he actually beat-mixed together. Someone should have really quality-controlled it before releasing it. If your paying money for a mixed CD like this, you'd expect it to be at least half-way decent mixed, esp by a supposed "professional" like him. Worst than most Tiesto mixes...at least he beat-mixes most of the time. |

I wonder why no one has mentioned Anthology One from Solar Stone yet... Pure melodic trance... I know, most of the songs on the CD are a bit older, but they are still amazing... :eyes:
Seven Cities, Solar Coaster, Like A Waterfall... e.t.c. :eyes: |
