religion is a way of mass control, every civilisation has it's own myth of origin. and to say to a bunch of people who have less of an idea than you do about what is going on, that the earth was made by a massively powerful, spiteful/caring being and that you were set in place of power by him, of course you are going to perpetuate this story for as long as you can. sorry for the ugly run on. |
all we have are theories and speculation as to the origin of "existance". google can help me finding out these different avenues of explaination. but no explaination satisfies the question. we still wonder. we dont know for sure.
every one of us has a god and a religion. doesnt have to be organized or be supernatural. whatever you hold of supreme value is your god and religion. where your god lays, is where your faith be. 50 cent lives for money. his first album was called "Get rich or die tryin." he worships money with his music. all his hopes are in money. u cant blame him, he used to be dirt poor. but it is his god. his religion. and u can clearly see it by his lifestyle and music. |

Playing devil's advocate here. The idea of intelligent design (creationism) has more evidence than evolution.
I'm just sick of all these nay-sayers who do it because it's cool.
Yeah, you're atheist. You're a bad ass. We get it. Get in line with the rest of them. And if you really wanna get in on the trend, start a blog about how much you hate life. |

| My post wasn't saying that atheists hate life. I was making the statement that it's an internet trend, along with being "depressed" and hating pretty much anything popular. |

big point there. atheist tend to shout it loud and proud, "I AM ATHEIST!!" good job, now lets have a circular debate about how the christian god does not exist. because atheism i believe was a reaction to christianity in america. an excuse to be able to do whatever you want, without having any repurcussions. christian talk of judgement by a just god just did not flow with this new age of cultural change. the sex & drugs revolution. the rock n roll era. nobody wants to feel guilty, and christianity does just that. makes u feel guilty when u do something wrong.
today, wrong has totally be redefined. to a christian, a person who does whatever he wants and has no second-thoughts or guilt has a seared consiouse(mispelled, i know). right and wrong become undefinable. it becomes relative. whatever u think is wrong and whatever u think is right. no longer an absolute right and wrong. the gov't on the other definately passes laws ABSOLUTELY stating what is right and wrong. if our laws were relative, our society would be in a state of chaos. "i killed my boss because he pissed me off. i think it was the right thing to do." |
