| There is a little sound in the back ground that sounds like my phone at work and its driving me nuts! LMAO I keep looking over at my phone... Im not good with production terms so I dont know the name of the tone whether its a kick or snare, etc but its like the same sound layered on top of each other a few times but just barely off beat so one hits slightly before the other... I probably sound crazy trying to explain that :stongue: I can hear it right at 2:04 |

Wow, you must have a really cool phone for it to sound like a synth! j/k =) I listened to that part and hear what you're talking about... do you hear it anywhere else? |

| Yes its all through out the track. Yea my phone has a unique ring. Its not a traditional home phone kind of ring. But its a pretty typical sounding ring for an office environment. Before I realized the sound was coming from my headphones you should have seen the look on my face at about the 5th time I thought it rang lol! Because the sound is subtle enough to sound like its outside of my head phones and being muffled, know what I mean. |

Actually, I know exactly what you mean, I used to hear it ALL THE TIME when I listened to this one Pennywise song... It wasn't until I was listening to the song in my car while driving that I decided it HAD to be the song and not my phone (I didn't have a cell phone at the time).
I'm going to be taking another good look at the mastering and composition of this as soon as I get my notebook running again, so hopefully it'll get fixed on its own after that. I haven't heard the "ring" yet in this track but then I've listened to it a billion times already and probably tuned it out automatically. |

there is a wobbling sound in the intro i really like if it was a half octave lower it would be bass....just wondering were you got it from...?
the thing i will say is this very now and then you get a good string sound...bass sound etc...store them all in a folder and then in time you will have a collection of really good sounds
liking track just alittle work on levels but to be honest its alot better than i could do..... wobbling bassline is what i really like

Hey man, you referring to the mid-bass synth line? I guess wobbling is my pathetic attempt at a "winding" sound hehe but I'm glad you like it! I've been playing with some sounds these past few days to try to get everything working together much better so hopefully my next update will be an improvement =)
You were wondering where I got that wobbling bassline from -- well I didn't sample it, if that answers your question.
Hopefully by the end of the week I'll have another update for you. So far my plan is to put in some lush pads, add a bit more excitement to the backing synths, and (as usual) touch up the drum sequencing. Hope you like the changes I have planned out =) |

Hey DJVirgen!
Heard some positive things about this track though the grapevine. I'm a progressive house/trance dj up in Seattle (www.djscottkeith.com if you would like to look) and so it would be great to support a fellow TA!
I'll try to get some comments to you after the weekend - feel free to follow up with me at [email protected] if you want.

Wow, I did not know anyone else in SD even listened to trance moreless produced. :) Very solid man! The only suggestion i can make is a deeper kick or bassline to add a little more low end. But I really dig it. Wish I could do something of this caliber! Great to see antother San Diegan in the mix!

Hey Everybody,
Glad to see you're all checking out DJ Virgen's work, he's very talented and j00f cant be wrong.
Thought i'd post up a link to my remix of this track, youall are welcome to leave feedback on it as well.
its a much more basic/clubby remix but i spend alot of time working on overly-melodic trance, and since the melody in this song is basic i spent time working on my "energetic" side. Hope you all can leave some feedback.
Thanks!

Hey. I wasnt sure about posting this so early since I am far far far from being finished but I figured I would go ahead and make it known that I was workign on a remix of this awesome track. I havent worked on it for a few weeks but when I was, I was working on it off and on. I have absolutely no idea how many hours (lots) I've put into this remix because of that :P. Anyway, I hope you like what I've done with the song so far but please keep in mind, this is still what I would consider a draft so keep a watch for the finished version :).
Just to give you an idea of the complexity of this remix, it takes about 15m to render on a P4 2.4GHz w/ HT enabled and 768MB of ram. There is 48 instruments. More than half are VSTis made of mostly Albino and FM7 but a few others as well. There is also 32 automation tracks and an unbelievable amount of effects lol. Anyway, enjoy.
