lol that's true...and that's cause Judaism is a religion...which many people confuse for some reason with a nationality or something like that.
Anyone can become a Jew if they want to...problem is that it's very difficult and made like an "exclusive club" type of deal.
I was watching this documentary on CBC a while back and they were saying that part of the reason Christianity was "invented" is cause the demands to beecome Jewish were too harsh...they were actually Jews trying to make an "easy" Judaism...spread the idea of "one god" for everyone...unlike greeks for example who had many different gods...anyway lets not get into it now :stongue:
there are lots of crazy jews who denounce Israel as a state...those are the extremist...and I don't like extrimists of any religion because I think it's retarded (no offence to anyone) |

LOL I've never met a coloured jew that belonged to any particular synagogue.
Most of those protesting that antisemites are behind the hate are usually white jews standing behind a rabbi.
But then I don't profess to know all that there is to know about being jewish.
I only know about what I have seen and read with my own eyes...and that's why I think people should not say things like "why do so many people around the world hate and have hated Jews for thousands of years" There is something very wrong about making this kind of a statement :( |

| Well there's lots of antisemitism today stil too...it's not as bad as it used to be obviously but it's still around. Just like racism...it still exists. I am not jewish myself but I have a lot of respect and understanding for these people...BUT...and there's a big BUT...and I hate to say it but there are quite a few retards that are almost...well asking for it. :( But what can you do, you get these kind of people everywhere. |

So let's stir this up a bit...
I'm wondering how credible the reporting is for this incident about the teachers.
Do we believe it 100% or not.
I don't know why...but I have a feeling that somethings are missing from this story. I just can't believe that any teacher, with the amount of education and time invested into their career can be as irresponsible as this article claims.
I think this article is full of hot air - media hype. Do other TA's here agree (even a little)? |

no i believe this story to be 100% true.
private schools arent regulated by the government so the teachers are pretty safe to do whatever. plus its an ethnic school, and in ethnic schools things are usually remain within the community. the school principle also did not try to debate the existence of the problem she admitted it and said that it will be dealt. and lastly ive asked my friends before whether its true that teachers in middle east tell their students to hate jews and they said that yeah they tell them that if you dont do your homework or chores youll be eaten by a jewish monster. |

Don't be so surprised. It happens. You wouldn't believe the far-off lies that are told to instill fear. Some places still use those black & white 1940's anti-Jewish propaganda films to fuel their cause. Anyone with 2 brain cells would know that everything in those films are false & inflammatory, but to those that are only taught one thing, it makes sense to them. |

Well then if that is the case...how does it go from fear to hate?
I dunno...one thing is to put fear in a child...but when they grew up they learn the difference...don't they. You'd have to be locked in a closet and away from everything and everyone's input in order for you to grew up with so much hate.
And could the same not be true for certain people in the Jewish community too?
Now I'm not siding with anyone but this war thing is a two way war. Both hating each other...it wouldn't work if it was only the action of one :conf:
So how could we as Canadian Citizens help calm this hate..or...fear...or misunderstanding?
How can we be the peace mediator so that nothing erupts in Canada? |

Since the Jews were expelled from Palestine by Romans in retaliation for their bloody uprisings against Roman Empire, they have effectively scattered all over the world. Once Jews joined other societies and cultures, they were often treated differently because of difference in religions, and religion was very important for many centuries in Europe. A lot of people died because their religious background was different (Spanish Inquisition, for example).
Jews are for most part very educated people, based on their morals and goals, outlined in their society - education was very important. THats why often enough Jews had better jobs than other people and other religious groups in their new communities. Those were the key reasons for the whole mistreatment of Jews up until the 2oth century. Then Hitler wanted to purify the world of Jews, blaming them for the death of Jesus Christ (who was himself a Jew, what an irony), and the fact that they have "taken over" German (and some other countries' businesses and infrastructure), German people needed to be "cleansed" from this so-called "disease". So the horrific Great Genocide of the World War 2 had happened in which over 7 million Jews from all over Europe died.
After World War 2, in 1948, Jews were officially granted homeland in what was then Palestine (Jews started fleeing to Palestine decades earlier). Sooner after the friction between Jews and Muslims sparked the first war of many to come. This resulted in the further expansion of Jewish state, and displacement of millions of Palestinians. In the first war, Israel defeated Jordan and took control over key portions of West Bank and Jerusalem. In other wars to follow in the next several decades (1967 Six Day War, Suez Canal War, etc.) Israel expanded futher by taking strategic landmarks such as Golan Heights and establishing a port that effectively connected Israel to the Red Sea; in process defeating (in some cases more than once) armies of Jordan, Egypt, Syria, Lebanon [muslim militias] and even Iraq! In fact they were effectively outnumbered most of the time, but managed to defeat the Soviet Union-backed Muslim allies of the Middle East.
As a result of these wars, Muslims all over the world developed strong hate feelings against Jews, as seen in quite a few brutal slayings if innocent Jewish people around the world (outside of Israel). Today it is quite normal for a Muslim to be taught to hate Jews, and this is more frequent the closer it is to Israel.
I do not support either Jews or Muslims in this conflict. Both sides have done their share of crimes, even though the initial blow came from the Israelites. Maybe the first mistake done was done by British and French to pass a Mandate to allow a mass migration of Jews into Palestine, in turn displacing many Palestinians.
Persecution of Jews has been going on for many years. Jews certainly needed a homeland - and maybe even the Jewish Genocide could have been avoided. |

its all true dude go ask around. i remember i read an article about it and i was quite skeptical myself and then i asked my friends (from kuwait iran and iraq) and they said yeah that they do that. |

First of all, I am neither Jew or Muslim as well, in fact I am Russian Orthodox.
Yes, I've met a coloured Jew before, in Russia, of all the places.
Those mostly originate from Afrika, particularly the Jews Of Ethiopia. Recently Israeli government agreed to airlift thousands of them from Ethiopia into Israel. From what I also know, there are substantial Jewish communities in other countries in Afrika - such as Kenya and the Republic Of South Africa. |
