goddamn.....I dunno how Im gonna make it through Ultra. Just not used to partyin from 10pm to 10am that often :tongue2

I got to Club Space pretty early a lil after doors open to avoid the bull right before I saw Tiesto the other night (club reaching capacity). Edgar V was playing already and I am glad I caught his set. Him and I really have alot of the same tastes in progressive as far as the basslines and mixing are concerned. Paul van Dyk got on at 1 and played until 5am. With little surprise, his set was the best one I have seen so far. He played alot of new production/remix work I couldnt recognize except that they contained his basslines. TRacks I did recognize (to my very shot memory):

Ridgewalkers ft El - Find (Paul van Dyk remix) (F*CKING TUNE!!!!!!)
Marcos - Cosmic String (Marc van Linden remix)
Marcos - Just for a Day (MvL remix)
Whiteroom - Whiteroom
Whiteroom - Someday (instrumental)
PvD - Connected (Markus Schulz remix)
PvD - Nothing But You
(track containing lyrics "jump the next train"..pvd production or remix)
E-Craig Vs. Alegria - Global Drum Attack (212 Dub)
Paul van Dyk feat Vega 4 - The Other Side
Randy Kantana - Fancy Fair 2005 (PvD edit?)
Mojado - Senorita
Jesselyn - Omnia
Steve Agnello & Sebastian Ingrosso - Yeah
Inertia - The Chamber
U2 - Where The Streets Have No Names (Nu NRG Remix)

All of the others I didn't recognize while a few I heard before but didnt recall the names. The first 30 minutes of hisset was more proggy in tempo, though I am guessing these were tracks from Politics of Dancing 2 coming out soon. Rest of the set was pretty bangin and it was finally cool to be in a venue where every last person there was there to see Paul van Dyk; no julios for once. At least 30 other people had the vandit shirt or some other pvd related shirt and he seemed to like that. I have NEVER seen Paul that animated before, but yeah I gotta say this set beat out anything I saw in 2004 at least.

From 5am until.....whenever, Ferry Corsten played what I thought would be a more mellow set (seein as I was ready to pass the hell out) hahahaha NOPE!!! That crazy dutchman was trying to outdo Paul's set...that didn't quite happen however I can say that he played 1000 times better than he played at MBAR in houston. For those who havent been to Club Space in Miami...they got this damn horn with a hangin pull-handle like you see on a 18 wheeler...probably was the same thing. Tiesto and van Dyk used it very sparingly when it would only work the best with the vibe (after insane builds n such) Ferry....was havin way too much fun with it. All I can say :) The ravers seemed to like it tho but.. its all good :)

Tracks he played I spotted:

Mirco de Govia - Volle Stern (Super 8 remix)
Thrillseekers - Synathesia 2004 (Ferry Corsten remix)
Above and Beyond - No One on Earth (G&D remix)
Ferry Corsten - Punk (new unknown remix)
Ferry Corsten - Rock Your Body Rock (new unknown remix)
^^^ (those two were the highlight of his set..much better than the originals)

I cant really remember anything else he played, I was pretty exhausted by the time he came on and God only knows why I decided to stick around until 10. Anyways...gonna try to have some kinda energy for Ultra 7. After careful thought The 5 best sets in order of personal preference would be:

1. Paul van Dyk (load of new tracks, had the most people dancing)
2. (close second) DJ Tiesto
3. Ferry Corsten...he did as good a job mixing as Tiesto did, but I just wasnt ready to endure bangin sh*t at wee hours of the morning..it was
4. Armin van Buuren....had he of gotten to place at Space rather than Spin my overall impression mighta been better. He was either playing too loud or the system at spin just wasnt very good (bass was distorting the speakers). Solid mixing though.
5. Markus Schulz

So whats the deal with all this I've been hearing about some parties getting shut down because of noise complaints.

*shrug* I haven't heard anything...but there were so many parties going on, alot of em free hotel pool parties..there mioghta been an issue with a few of them.

Im getting ready to endure a looong bus ride back to Houston :( But it has been an incredible week. Again, I say none of this to make anyone jealous, I know I felt that way when I missed WMC the last 3 years..hell I wish everyone coulda at least have seen Ultra last night. I have no idea and cannot begin to speculate how many people were at least in the main stage amphitheater area. Pretty damn crowded and getting to the front was an impossibility. However, the vibe was unbelieveable with tens of thousands dancing at once after the beats dropped. The lighting/laser/video screen displays were the best I have seen in a while. I got there a littel after dark when Paul Oakenfold got off and Junkie XL performed. He did a pretty good job and really got into his set. Tiesto was after him and while he put on a good show, it was nothing compared to his set at Space. After Tiesto for the final 2 hours was Paul van Dyk who DESTROYED that area, so far this is the largest party I have seen him play at. I'm a bit undecided on which of his sets I preferred, the club space one was much longer but this one the vibe was out of control. Well I gotta head out....see everyone next week at NU NRG. Be on the look out for videos of Ultra since a ton of em were being shot :)

my first time in the WMC,
i had an amazing once in a lifetime experience.

althoug i did not enter space for any of the events because of the progresively incresing price of tix and the huge f**ing lines.
BUT, I did get to enter nikki beach BBC radio one party on friday in which i had fun, but the music was rather bad because of tech problems and shortage of equipment (lines were imposible and the people at the doors and around the fence can come and suck my balls because they made it IMPOSIBLE to get into the FREE party.

On the ULTRA 7 I got there at the exact time as avb started and that made my day! what an amazing set. full of AVB enegry!
later i moved to the main stage and managed to get to the first row. Oaky's set was super and then Junkie XL destroyed the place. leaving Tiesto and PVD with no other direction than to throw more energy onto the crow. Tiesto got up and started good enough, then he slumped like for 2 or 3 tunes, after it he exploded and finished leaving PVD with a already tired but hungry for music crowd. The godfather of the ultra fest (as he was incroduced by the mc) came on and pulverised the crowd!

I raved from 2 pm to 12:30 ..... WAOOOOOOOO
I've never seen soooo much people together .......
i did not attend the carry-on because my feet felt like boats!

well., now on the airport i write this review for you all..
they are boarding now.

WOW!! what an amazing day at Ultra! Jesus christ! I hope that was like heaven because words cannot explain the feeling at the event!

Tiesto disintegrated the crowd with his set. He played some songs there that I wish I would have ID'd, but the trance was so beautiful, there was no time to think or breath! I was dancing my ass off. I had also never seen Junkie XL spin live. That f*cking monkey has skill! However, no one matched the crowds energy like PVD. When that guy hit those tables, right from the start, he made the crowd go mad. The MC had a good reason to call PVD the "Godfather of Ultra Festival" like he called him. PVD had angels surrounding his soul when he spinned, because it couldnt get any better than that!

Well I went to the afterparty mainly to see Sasha and Digweed. There were rumors that Sasha & Digweed will start touring again, essentially to a new upcoming album composed by both of them. But again, these were words that floated around the arena. I hop it happens because these two guys are what started me 5 years ago into the trance scene, mainly Sasha. Sasha played some stuff off of Involver, which was great. But he also played sme choons there that sounded a lot like him that I had never heard before. Might this be whats going to be on that new compilation??

God Bless you Sasha, Armin, PVD, Digweed!!

PEACE!:nervous:

just got back home...no way in hell am I takin the bus again, but this year I was gonna get there no matter what. I am just glad I went for WMC and not just Ultra. PvD, Ferry and Tiesto's sets at Space will be in my memories for a long time to come. Same goes for Armin's set at Spin. Amazing week....

Must hear some stories when I see you next time.

I wouldn't even no where to start... hahaha. I saw soo much crazy out there I could type for hours. The best one was Ferry Corsten at Space... some chick wrote "HONK if you wanna see some titties" or whatever she wrote, and he honked the truck horn in the DJ booth and 3 girls flashed him at once. The split second look on his face before he cracked up was priceless, had me laughin the past 3 days
