Duran Duran... if you don't think this thread belongs here, remember your roots!
Oh my God I cried like a 14 year old girl when they first came out!
Picture the smokey black background with hite strobes, and the original 5 (Andy Taylor back from England, where his father just passed away) in silhouette in their black suits with white shirts and narrow 80's leather ties. Whoo hoo!
The only songs they didn't play from the "old days" were New Moon on Monday and Union of the Snake. They did play My Chauffeur, Planet Earth, White Lines (I didn't know what this song was about when I was a little girl! Ah, how times have changed!), Hold Back the Rain, the Reflex, Wild Boys, Notorious, Save a Prayer, Come Undone, Rio, Hungry Like the Wolf, and just about every other major hit they've had in the past 25 years.
They opened with Sunrise and played about 5 tracks off the new album in total. The new album has some really dancy tracks on it. The DVD extra has great concert footage.
I picked up an awesome soccer jersey with Duran Duran on the front. Simon Le Bon was totally hot. They had fun with each other on stage, too. What a night.
I wish I was seeing them in Toronto. |

muzzybear...soooo nice to hear you had a blast :D
I watched an interview they did recently, where they say that thier shows today reflect the real Duran Duran...without the gimmicks. They said that they appreciate the women coming to their shows today even more, because they are much wiser and know how to put their makeup on right hehehehe
I hope you got a pic of yourself there, with all those women and Duran Duran :toothless
Would be nice if you could put it up for all to see. |

My friend Sandi and I were stopped and checked and they made her take her camera back to the car! Wish we had a camera phone! I'm so far behind the times! I feel bad for the guy next to me with his girlfriend. I think he got bumped by my elbows for most of the night while I was rockin' out!
We took pics when we had 3rd row at Kingswood (she took the lens off the cam and told the door guy she wouldn't use the camera - yeah, right!) I've got great close ups from that one. We'd probably have Duran Duran's lawyers at our doors confiscating them! |
