when you compare scooter with sammy tracks...honestly which tunes have more electronic potential and offer the better sound ?
there are two forms of commerce for ME (imho) :
1. ppl who cover old music in any horrible converted way
and
2. ppl who produce just the common on "happy sounds" and WOOOOHOOO (handsup) based music for the wide mass
scooter falls under the first genre and sammy under the second
so choose now what you prefer .. :thepirate |
Uhh....actually, according to your own classification system, both Scooter and DJ Sammy would fall under the first form ("ppl who cover old music in any horrible converted way")
Ignorance truly is bliss, no? |

If it wasn't for DJ Sammy and Scooter there wouldn't half as many trance fans as there are now. I got into trance listening to crappy, cheesy bollocks type music and i bet most of you lot did too. I can see now how utterly dire and wouldnt even threaten my CD player with it but at the time i enjoyed it as fun uplifting music. It's what made me want to explore the genre further.

Wrong! It's a trans-gender gabber DJ who's famous for being able to flawlessly crossfade with a dildo. Spins gabber and acid house.
Off the hook yo' :happy2: |
He's also pretty well known for his power noise alias, Armin van Buuren. |

| Dj Sammy is usually what I call the coiled brown logs in my toilet. Though that's more heaven than does Sammy justice. |

i disagree.
first tune i heard was heaven, i hated it, and i knew it was crap, but i wanted more trance, so it did get me into it. still sucked though. |

| Heaven isn't trance... it's more Euro Pop. But it's closely related to trance though... and some of DJ Sammy's work is definately trance... |

I got into trance by listening to ''In Trance We Trust 001''

| This shouldn't be an issue. Giving threads devoted to him on a quality site like this is only going to encourage this . |

Eloquently put... Go back and reread my post. Nowhere in that text did I insult your beloved van Buuren. It was a stupid post and was intended to be received as such. If you wish to make an issue of it, however, I'd be more than happy to help out. Quite frankly, Armin van Buuren deserves no less bashing than Dj Sammy. The two are practically interchangeable, save for Sammy's music being slightly more accessible and Armin's being more drawn-out. They both over abuse similar anthemic, "uplifting" synthlines, and create the same formulaic Europop. |
