:conf: Um, compared to Oakey's set's @ Ultra 5 & Ultra 6 he TOTALLY ROCKED this year so I really don't see the problem because this is definetly a step up.

Yeah, If we compared to 5 and 6, he really spinned good this years UMF. By the way, I never thought that he is gonna start his set something like Traffic.

ULTRA 5 was better than this year's IMO. Just listened to it this morning. However, I think Oakey did a pretty good job this year. MY only turnoff, and it's pretty big.............WHY ON GOD'S EARTH DID YOU DROP TIESTO-TRAFFIC!?! Please stop canning that track Oakey! Tiesto was dropping it back in 2003! I understand dropping PPK-Resurrection in your set, but not Traffic!

haha no offense but what year are we in?

2002 or 2005 ? Come on Oakenfold

then again tiesto and pvd are not better playing a lot of the same they did last year. I guess it makes sense to play your hits though no matter how old

When PvD dropped "Nothing But You" followed by (and closing with) "Time Of Our Lives" it was the PERFECT 2 choices to end his set simply because those tracks are PvD classics and more importantly because "Time Of Our Lives" is lyrically the best track to end ANY set because it truly signifies the experience you just went thru.

Overall DJing is NOT about playing the newest tracks it's about putting together the RIGHT tracks, new or old, to create a memorable experience for everyone involved. If you want the newest tracks go listen to ASOT or something :thepirate

What.The.? :haha: Everything about this posts makes me cringe.

PvD also played Sander van Doorn - Dark Roast (PvD Edit).

Incorrect, it was his original version that also appeared on Reflections. The PVD Club mix, while similar, has a watered down bassline among a few other differences that make it not as good (my 0.02)

True, its about playing the right tracks at the right time. But alot of it boils down to personal opinion. IMO I think his set at Space was much better.

sot

You just brought up something else to mind. Space (which is a club) is an INDOOR event and Ultra is an OUTDOOR event, DJ's tend to spin different songs for different venues. Tiesto's club events are much different from his Outdoor events I have noticed and this goes with a lot of DJ's.
