from an engineering and architectural perspective, it's already possible to build much taller skyscrapers (and has been for a few decades) -- the real problem with taller buildings is the elevators -- all other things being equal, the taller a building gets, the more elevators you ultimately need. With conventional approaches, a building a mile tall would have to be almost all elevators. Until that problem is solved, office/residential buildings can't get much taller. |

Have you seen the tower they are planning in Japan.... It's massive. Their way around the elevator problem was/is to build trains to run in a spiral around the building droping people off at certain floors and then having elevators to service subsections of the building. |

see elevator maintenance guys are just to crazy to afford :P they make like 50 bucks an hour. |

Their in the looking for financing stage. So the building is designed but the final engineering cannot be done until they know where they will build it. Many are touting it as the solution to Tokyo's overcrowding. |

i dont see how. i posted 3 of them in this forum. and the ones deemed bad i was asked to delete and i followed the mods and i deleted them.
however what went on in the core is another question. that place went out of control. but im proud to say i had nothing to do with the core this time |
