When you plug the iPod into the dock connector (or however the Minis connect to your computer) it should show up in Windows Explorer as a portable device/removable storage. Just treat it as a removable harddrive. Works for me. |

It does, but you dont have access to the MP3 files stored on it. I CAN treat the iPod as a removable HD... but that stuff stays segregated from the music i have saved.
you cannot view the mp3s on Gertie for whutever reason.
so dragging and dropping aint gonna be working for me :(

I'm pretty sure you can import the songs from iTunes...when it synchronises it should do it. If it doesn't do it automatically then you can set the synchronisation in iTunes into manual mode and physically move them over.
I iTunes |

See, I already have iTunes in manual mode, but i dont seem to be able to manually move them over. :S
but ive been trying to drag them from the iPod to the Library folder or a playlist i had created... maybe i need to drag from the iPod to like my desktop (ie. somewhere outside of the iTunes program)?
ill try this when i get home. its just ballsallovertheplace if i cant steal files off my iPod which i didnt originally have on my comp! :whip: |

| Hhhmmmm...interesting...I'm more than positive there's a way to do it...you just have to try a bunch of things, there's no way in hell that you can't trasfer files from the iPod to your PC. Especially considering that you can trasfter other files on your iPod as if it was a hard drive. |

I really DO think there shold be a way too... but ill be dammed if i can find it... and its not like im not compusavvy...
the trouble is, the ipod seesm to segregate its mp3 library from the rest of its memory... u HONESTLY cannot access the part of the iPod that stores the mp3s on it when u view its content as a drive...

Scanned it briefly, will look at it more when i get home. THANK YOU... i think thats exactly whut im looking for. i hope to find the answers to most my questions/issues there! Thanks man. Appeciate that.
Hey Cale, that car power adapter, you said u had one of those eh?
Any probs when it in terms of charging the iPod battery up. Does it take the same amount of time as when u charge urs via a USB connection (or thru a plug, whutever the case may be)?
I was reading reports about "un-approved iPod hardware" being used in connection w/ ipods (such as alternative recharging devices) and they have caused malfunctions in the iPod itself...
no issues i take it?
