It's also helped people live fulfilling lives and made people help others for the past few thousand years... people who abuse religion as an excuse for every problem in the world are idiots btw... these problems would have existed and been blamed on other problems if not for religion... people will always be in conflict, there will always be power struggles, if not over religion then over ethnicity... you know, ethnicity and political aims can be as much an extreme force as religion.
When people use religion as a justification to wage war, etc. it just means they're a sad excuse for a human being... I don't think it necessarily has much to do with religion by itself... it has to do with human nature and ignorance.
I personally have NO problem with people practicing religion, I have NO problem with people going to church instead of going out, NO problem in people believing that the world is good and that God is good and that they should be happy. I have no problem with the Pope as a figurehead either. If people want someone to lead them and someone to take inspiration in, he is there. |

Even though the media hasn't said anything yet, I think he's already dead. The vatican won't say anything until they do that ritual thing, where they hit him in the head with a silver hammer and say his name 3 times...
