I've heard some economist(s) say that by 2010, the price of crude will be well over $100 a barrel:eyespop:
THe other day on the news they showed the various prices of gas per litre in different countries...New Zealand pays the most at $2.45 p litre while in Kuwait its 25 cents a litre & in Venezuala its only 5....FIVE....5 cents per litre:nervous: |

This makes one think, and also puts things in perspective.
Diet Snapple 16 oz $1.29 ...... $10.32 per gallon
Lipton Ice Tea 16 oz $1.19 .$9.52 per gallon
Gatorade 20 oz $1.59 . $10.17 per gallon
Ocean Spray 16 oz $1.25 . $10.00 per gallon
Brake Fluid 12 oz $3.15 . $33.60 per gallon
Vick's Nyquil 6 oz $8.35 .... $178.13 per gallon
Pepto Bismol 4 oz $3.85 .. $123.20 per gallon
Whiteout 7 oz $1.39 ........ . $25.42 per gallon
Scope 1.5 oz $0.99 .$84.48 per gallon
And this is the REAL KICKER...
Evian water 9 oz $1.49..........$21.19 per gallon?! $21.19 for WATER - and the buyers don't even know the source. (Evian spelled backwards is Naive.)
So, the next time you're at the pump, be glad your car doesn't run on water, Scope, or Whiteout, or God forbid, Pepto Bismol or Nyquil. |
I never even thought of it like that. Good point.. |

I think this whole thing is a sham, when i looked at the prices per barrel, there dropping. the prices are set buy buyer of the oil, i think all of these gas stations are ripping us right off, I have been going to the no name gas stations, which i find are a little cheaper, if we all did that then the big companies would have to come down in price to match the competition. The prices are already dropping per barrel, so why arent the gas stations? because they know people will pay that much, bunch of BS |
You're very wrong. Gas stations do not make the decision on the gas price. The head offices recieve a notice to what the gas price should be changed to, and it follows down the chain. A lot of gas stations change their prices in accordance to what the competition prices are. In any case, it all comes from the big rigs at the top. I know this because I am an assistant manager at a Gas Station. |

There is supposed to be a "superspike" in early summer, I believe, gas will possibly reach $3.00-$3.50 US per gallon.
I think I may start walking.
It's a 8 month wait for any of the new "Hybrid" cars, such as the Honda Accord Hybrid.
What happened to all the buzz about Gasahol? |

If you go through that much Pepto, you are most likely generating your own gas supply:haha: |

but you gotta love the incentive to walk, ride ur bike, use public transit, etc... maybe as oil prices climb, we'll see some clean-energy alternatives come to widespread use (and I don't mean hybrid cars...) |
Hybrids are, and will be the future of vehicles. Specifically with regards to Toyota, which is a world leader right now in hybrid technology ... they say their hybrid systems can work with gas engines, diesel, or even hydrogen fuel cells.
Fuel cell hybrids will be the ultimate because they will greatly extend the range and practicality of hydrogen cars. |

Ford has a hybrid SUV, I think it's called the Escape.
The Honda Accord hybrid is very quiet in city driving. |
