personally, i think whilst sasha' dj skillz/sets might be better the G&D sound is much better and eventually with the right exposure, be enjoyed by more people then the sasha/diggers sound.. obviously this is open to different opinion.. [/QUOTE]
no soups, no.
have you heard heaven scent? this is Digweed when he was at the point g and d are right now.
have you heard xpander?
Scorchio?
Walking on fire?
dude, digweed and sasha are the gods, they did it first, they invented it, the are the kings. G and D are really good and i enjoy them enormosly, but they are following a path that was set out 10 years ago. There were NO Superstar DJ's, then there was 1, his name was Sasha.
In 5 years when G and D are PLaying super intelligent, deep prog, and you say they are the ultimate..again you will be wrong.
full respect for dave dresen and josh gabriel for what they are doing, its good and its needed, but cmon, this is sasha and digweed. |

So you were listening to Sasha and Digweed when you were 8 years old? At the risk of repeating myself, ten years ago, people viewed S&D not so differently from how they view G&D now. They weren't gods, and they weren't the ones that put EDM on the map, either; Depeche Mode, Kraftwerk, and New Order (to name a few) were filling stadiums around the world with EDM throughout the 80s.
I suspect you're working from inherited nostalgia for a period in music-history time that you weren't around for.
With G&D, the proof will be the test of time. I say good on em, and lets see how the next few years treat them. :) |
oh I can really see how in ten years time Gabriel and Dresden's 'Bloom' will be discussed in the same breath as Sasha and Digweed's original Renaissance CD.

Fabric 20 was neither a joke of a cd, nor fresh and innovative.

Armin played it when he was here early this year and it didn't get much reaction. I really can't listen to it and enjoy it. :( |
