its official ttc will go on strike monday, was watching the news and saw the Head of the transit union announce that the ttc will go on strike on Monday, I for one dont understand why there striking maybe someone can explain I heard it something to do with privatization but not sure, but I for one dont understand why they would strike i heard workers get paid alot of money, not to mention I thought the number of riders were increasing , not to mention the recent fare hike.. so if there is an increase in fare and in riders then where is all this m oney going.
now the majority of the city is screwed i hope they dont go on strike. |

Although I'm no expert on the subject... I would guess that the fare increase is related to the strike. TTC workers probably saw that the TTC would be generating more money due to the fare increase, and they thought "since the TTC is generating more revenue, we should get a share of it too!". I don't blame them, but the reason for the fare hike was to provide the TTC with new equipment, not to pay the TTC workers more. |

| I did not like the union rep's tone. He seemed full of spite and couldn't care less about the commuters. |

Actually Ben I met him in person & he's a good guy...When I was watching the news, I could tell that he has had NO sleep & the fact that this was his first time being in the "public eye". I almost sensed some nervousness too:nervous: |
