Where do you think hes headed atm? I feel his sounds are becoming very "Eric Pyrdz" like, Electro funky groovy beats. Especially that "Involved Events pres. Sasha - Live in Orlando, FL (18.02.2005) [Broadcast 08.04.2005] " set. Do you guys like this, because I can not really get into it.

I think he's trying to find where to fit in. He's a bit behind as far as the electro / tech-house trend, and also as far as the progressive house scene goes his track selection isn't entirely fresh. IMO he's working on getting a handle on Maven and becoming comfortable with what he's doing with it before he sets his sights on further defining his own sound again.
That said, I still do like what I've heard. |

Yup. I liked his new sound for a while, but it got tiresome when all he played was Mylo, Infusion, King Unique and Thin White Duke, with some Holden thrown in. That's still what he's playing.
Haven't lost faith in him though. |

| It would seem to me that Sasha has things going on inside his head that only he can comprehend. All djs/producers have their own style, and Sasha is definetley no exception. The new stuff (older tracks tho) that we've heard from Sasha just seem like a shift in musical preference, or perhaps just something new he's trying out. I think he's trying to do more than fit into the techhouse electro whatever trend; he's trying to redo the sound Sasha style...good or bad. I believe he's always done his own thing, had his own sound, and not cared too much about the specific genre he was in...just played what he likes to groove to.:happy2: |

| Sasha's definitely going on a more electro-influenced tip atm, but where the did the Eric Prydz comparison come from? :conf: |

| He's spotted a bandwagon and is obviously getting aboard as fast as possible. |

i kinda agree.. that liveset, only gave a very quick listen to it but wasn't too impressed.. however, about sandstorm's comparison with eric prydz, i really liked eric's essential mix so i wouldn't be too bothered with sasha going even more in that direction.. even if he'd lose his originality |

I didn't say its bad. I think Pyrdz is quite skilled. If I had to point my finger, thats just the direction I think hes headed.
I think that style is also less "mind controling" then others. |

Sasha does what he wants, he obviously has more skills than 99.9% of deejays out there but now with abletron, he let that go away. Sasha will get bored of the computers and eventually go back to his own thing.
Wait till Fundacion (GU album out mid summer), then we can all see what he has been up to. |
