People litterally run if they are in the way of a car with right of way. |

I j-walk all the time. Living on Queen st, you learn fast, thats for sure. I also make fun of my friends who wont do it (lol Lauryn :p)
Also, back in my gina days, I used to have this serious ego problem, and Id j-walk across ANY street with the reason being
"Im a girl, nobodys going to hit me, theyll stop or slow down by the time they get to me"
Lol soooo lame, but it was fun back at the time....
and for the record, the ALWAYS did stop or slow down :p |

| Meh, I j-walk once in awhile especially if I'm running late or it's late at night downtown somewhere where's theres not that much traffic, but like every other smart person I analyze the situation before I decide to run cuz in a battle of metal vs flesh, metal usually wins |

The worst is jaywalkers on the 401...SPLAT!!
I worked downtown for a while...thank God for PATH (but in the summer one has to come up for the scenery ;)) and then the jwalking begins...mind you traffic is so clogged you can easily walk around the cars.
I have so much fun revving up the engine around Queens Park with the students that want to cross over!!! I'm an AHOLE!!!! :) |

And get hit by italian drivers if you ever tried to pull that there....
Put Torontonians in another country and theyd be flattened within 5 minutes and the best part is that it would legally be their fault, not the driver's. |
aha I did pull that in Rome. I wasn't flattened.. :p
I don't expect drivers to stop however. I j-walk fully expecting drivers to keep on driving. |

it's actually kind of funny. When I was in Rome, I was fairly respectful of the lights, and street signage and so on initially. But watching the locals just walk through all the traffic was inspiring. Hey when in Rome right?? |

i remember the same but i also remmeber that it was a weird symbiosis between car and pedestrian...
equisite timing. I dont think cars ever slowed down but pedestrians did a good game of playing frogger. |
