Pedestrians are getting ballsy

J-walking and expecting cars to automatically stop even when the pedestrian has absolutely no right of way. No regard for 2 tonnes of steel coming at them at 60 km/h. No wonder there are so many pedestrian fatalities.
And dont give me dirty looks when i blast my horn you ignorant s! /rant

And get hit by italian drivers if you ever tried to pull that there....
Put Torontonians in another country and theyd be flattened within 5 minutes and the best part is that it would legally be their fault, not the driver's. |

J-walking is fine as long as you respect that cars have the right of way. So if you see one coming and you are j walking, run.
Dont expect cars to stop unless you actually have right of way. |

and push the motion to get some cops on the street corners that will hand out tickets to jaywalkers... |

| I try to avoid the Annex area in Toronto when driving as the jwalkers there rule the road. No consideration for a vehicle's right of way. Crossing against the light must be rewarded at the coffee shops or something. |

I J-walk all the time as well. But I first make sure it's safe to do so. Who has the time to wait for lights to change? :D |

No the solution is to not automatically fault the driver when they hit a pedestrian. Pedestrians know that its "not their fault" if they get hit which is why they are ballsy. But they dont realize that if they get hit then it wont matter whose fault it is because they will likely be dead.
Make our road rules like anywhere else in the normal world. If you get hit and you are j-walking its your own damned fault for being there in the first place. |
