His deutsch, so it should be Heil! Heil Benedict!

Well, he probably said Heil Hitler a few times in his life: he was actually part of Hitler's Nazi youth movement...not that he had a choice, but still.

My brother and my dad think the same thing... all i see it... hasnt been an italian pope in so long.

Actually, it's only been about thirty something years that there hasn't been an italian pope. Before John Paul II, their was some insane number like 573 years of italians leading the catholic church. :o

About time they look elsewhere! :whip: :whip: :whip:

They really ed the pooch on this one. They had a chance to elect a pope from Latin America or Africa, with moderate views regarding many things, but ended up electing an ultra conservative German with Nazi ties. Granted, he was a child and had absolutely no say in the matter, but when you have candidates such as the Cardinal from Nigeria in the wings, who has so many things going for him, I simply can't understand this decision. Africa has the highest rate of Catholic converts in the world at the moment, and a black pope would have gone a long way to soften the church's image, and build on the goodwill of the previous pope. Afterall, the pope is a symbolic and PR figure nowadays. So why not go with the person who'll give you the most PR points? I have no clue what exactly they were thinking.

wonder what this Pope will try and do for this world. Anyone wanna take any bets?

a black pope is just too much of a target and the world can pretend that their not racist but they would never elect a black pope or at least not now a days hopefully in the future that il change

What has any pope ever done for the world, other than keeping people from using birth control in developing countries, so as to the country a third world country. The last pope didn;t even try to stop the genocide in rwanda. He could have stopped that in a few speeches, seeing as every person in the country is extremly catholic and even the people who commited the genocide were practicing catholics.:whip:
